How are you and your eggs going, Hadily?
"I'm cold, but mostly because I've been using my blankets to insulate the eggs. It's far too cold not to."
She's wearing a bulky, fluffy knitted sweater in a calming shade of periwinkle, and it seems to not be helping much.
"I don't like snow that much, but when it starts falling in the desert..." She grimaces a bit, "Freezing."
Hadily stares out the window of her house, disbelieving what she saw falling from the sky.
"Snow? Here? Snow in the desert?"
She scoots away from the window and finds a thick, warm blanket, wrapping it around herself before shuffling off to the bedroom to warm the eggs.
Toadly, do you need a blanket?
Toadly sweeps snow off a stump and sits there.
"Yes."
Toadly sitting in the snow.
“I’m cold.”
△ Hadily, do you fear that you'll outlive your children due to Ripto's genetics and the possibility that they'll be impacted by his species' shorter life expectancy?
The dragon falls silent, closing her eyes and putting her head in her hands, she knows it's a possibility, but she doesnt want to think about it. All she can do is hope the magic of her species will help.
"I.. I do.. I'm very scared of that..."
10/10 didnt want to even think about it.

Hadily's fins point down as she blushes and looks away in embarrassment, way to put her on the spot.
"Depends, but.. I usually bottom.."
3/10, not the best but not nearly the worst.

Puck looks at the stars on his arms and shrugs a little.
"Lylace calls em cute, but shes got more than I do, and her stars arent nearly as pointy as mine. So I'd honestly say my sister has cuter stars."

There was a slight hitch in his breath as the peeps became more audible… He watched Hadily with her eggs, wide-eyed, and… Trembling?
His heart was racing… The peeps… The little peeps… How it melted his heart to hear them… He inched closer toward the eggs, watching them.
Hadily’s violet eyes were huge with awe as the little dragon-dino babies inside the eggs peeped in response to her voice. She could feel her heart fluttering in her chest as she listened to the tiny vocalizations.
“Ripto, come say hi..!” Hadily said softly, motioning for him to get close. The eggs both made little scuffling noises as the hatchlings inside moved.
She couldn’t believe that they were already so close to hatching, its only been a week and already they’re moving and peeping!!

“I went to the artisans and picked up some heavy-duty, flame and scratch resistant materials and thought I’d make a playpen.” She beams, thumping her chest with one large hand in pride.
“They’re just like lil’ linkable bits of dragon-proof fence so them babies don’t get everywhere and burn the curtains or somethin’. I make much bigger, stronger versions of this stuff for makin’ beasts!” Anoma lets out a big laugh, her crocodilian maw opening wide as she cackled, big, sharp teeth showing.
“No need to thank me or anythin’ for it, I’ve been so excited for Hads to have some kiddos of her own that I’m just burstin’ with joy!”

“Oh okay, go ahead, scream.” Puck said with a roll of his eyes, opening his book for a moment and looking up a spell. Once he’d found the spell he was looking for he reached into one of the inner pockets of his vest and pulled out a stem of fresh chamomile.
He stared at the sprig of chamomile, silently repeating the spell in his head before exhaling a puff of flame onto the flowers, setting them on fire. Puck then shook the flame out and left the chamomile smoldering.
“Go ahead, try screaming.” The spell he’d just cast was a sound reduction spell, commonly used for crying, screaming hatchlings.

“Okay, so it wasn’t a bird it was a dinosaur..” They said, still holding out the basket, the flowers inside it were quite nice looking, or so they thought.
Maybe I shouldn’t have brought flowers... Maybe alcohol would have been better... Toadly scrunched their nose a little as they thought to themself, staring down at the basket in their hands. Breaking out of their thoughts they looked back at the mutant fruit, whom looked like he’d been through one hell of a day.
“Uh...” The amphibious dragon lowered the basket back to their side and scratched the back of their head awkwardly, “If you don’t want flowers I can get you something else..”
Dragonflies. Magical protective powers aside, there's so much that's different about the ones I'm familiar with compared to the ones that live in the Dragon Realms. They usually only live a few months as adults where I'm from, like what you said about beetles, and Spyro mentioned that Sparx used to crawl around on his egg back when he was a larva and that's completely different from the water-dwelling nymphs I'm used to. Please, I'd love to hear more about those kinds of dragonflies.
“Oh you wanna know about the magical versions of insects? Magically affected Hercules beetles are big enough for me ride on, unlike the non-magical ones. However, there’s no non-magical Dragonflies that exist. All dragonflies are so deeply ingrained in dragon magic that they formed a symbiosis with true dragons.”
“I don’t know if I’m a true dragon or not, but I didn’t have a dragonfly as a baby, I did, however, have a pet crawdad. I didn’t grow up in the Dragon Realms at all, I was born an orphan and raised by the Fireflies of Spooky Swamp.”
“Anyways! Dragonflies! Totally different from any other insect! They do have a nymph stage, but they’re only partially aquatic, they live in water as they first hatch. After a while of eating, molting and repeating that, they climb out of the water and break out of their exoskeleton as a soft, squishy dragonfly. After hardening they either fly off to find a dragon hatchling, or they’re assigned to a hatchling.”
“Spyro was a special case, he was assigned a dragonfly nymph as an egg due to being hatched alone and during an odd season. I think, Alban doesn’t always speak clearly when it comes to how Spyro grew up... But in normal cases they’re only assigned to hatchlings.”
“Dragonflies will follow their hatchling to the ends of the world, and with their undying loyalty, will protect and help their hatchling in numerous ways. Protecting them by absorbing any damage through a magical means only affects their physical form, they do dissipate and lose form if they sustain too much damage, but can be reformed by a butterfly’s magic.”
“Butterfly magic isn’t all that hard to understand, though, they’re just super-powerful sources of magic, considering their size.”

Puck recoiled as the tiny dino screamed, his ears flattening back as he stood up tall and glared down at the orange sorcerer with irritation.
“Don’t scream in my face, Ripto. You’ve seen a dragon before.” The learning Magic Crafter said, “And I’ve never seen you so tiny before. Did you get into a mishap with a size or aging spell?”
It had to be one of those kinds of spells, nothing else would make Ripto look more like a baby than usual.
How the hell did this dragon know his name?!
The tiny nugget staggered backwards, hissing and spitting like a frightened cat.
“D-d-d-don’t come any closer..!!”
Pucando stared at him like the little dinosaur had three heads, confusion evident on his long dragon face.
“I.. Uh... Ripto? You know that we all know your name? Spyro told Nestor and the other Artisans, and word spreads fast around here. Or is this another timeline-split situation?”
Puck shifted the heavy book in his arms and carefully sat down in the somewhat snowy grass, his orange eyes still showing confusion.
“You don’t have to be afraid, bud, I’m not gonna hurt you.”
