AAAHHHH ACOTAR 6 AND 7!!!

It’s almost definitely going to be about Elain and ALSO Mor!!!! Here’s why:

She talks about how fun it has been to explore free will around the mating bond

She’s spoken about how the bond is ALSO ‘biology’ and how sometimes ‘nature’ chooses wrong eg, Rhys’ parents

She would not have mentioned that unprompted when she was asked ONLY about a mating bond IF SHE DIDNT WANT TO GIVE US CRUMBSSSSSSS

I’m almost certain it’s going to be a tandem read along with Mor’s POV because:

SJM said the POV surprised her

When asked about Mor’s powers she said we would find out

It’s a tandem read and she’s the only one who has gone somewhere else from the inner circle and had a story to tell based on that.

Something that unsettles me about fae mythology is how every rule is designed to protect you from them. They all require you to be smarter than you are in the moment when you need it the most.

Don’t eat the food, don’t give them your name, don’t say thank you, don’t accept gifts, don’t make a deal, don’t say anything you don’t mean, am I missing something?

Despite all these rules the fae still seem to win across most mythologies, cultures and retellings.

These rules expect calmness, preciseness and suspiciousness at the exact moment when you are standing in front of something so incomprehensible beautiful that is actively trying to either charm you or scare you.

The trap isn’t the fine print but the fact that they want you to be so dazzled that you don’t read it.

I only read literary fiction is just a rebranded form of saying I was taught to be ashamed of enjoying things.

The novel was a lowbrow populist format when it was invented. serialized fiction was considered trashy. penny dreadfuls were moral panic fodder.

Every generation decides which stories count as real literature and it is always, without fail, the stories that upper class tastemakers didn’t write and couldn’t control.

Kate looked at Anthony and saw exhaustion that she had never said out loud. Anthony looked at her and saw someone who would never need him to explain it.

At first that kind of recognition made them feel caught, like a deer in headlights.

You can’t hide from someone who doesn’t know the signs, you cannot hide from someone living the same reality.

Benedict Bridgerton had every advantage and no direction

Think about it, Anthony had duty and Colin has ambition. Benedict had talent, freedom and close to no obligations but absolutely no idea who he can be without some role to perform.

He’s a second son, it means he has all of the privilege and none of the purpose. Instead of feeling liberated by it, it left him trying on identities like costumes - the artist, the rake, the philosophical one. All until Sophie met him in a mask at the ball and somehow saw him more clearly than anyone who knew his actual face.

She fell for him, beyond his name and family’s title.

Benedict hadn’t had that experience before.

Sophie Baek is the most realistic love interest in the entire Bridgerton series (so far)

She does something that the others do not. Sophie does not allow Benedict romanticise her situation.

Every single time he reaches for fairy tale framing she pulls him back to reality. Sophie Baek grew up in the dark version of the fairy tale. She knew how the story ends when the magic of it wears off.

She wanted to be seen more than rescued.

Our golden, beloved Benedict had to change his perspective on that. For him everything was always a fairy tale. He had to decide if he would show up for her or for the story he wanted to tell about himself.

Here’s something worth sitting with: there is a version of reading that’s just consumption with better branding.

If you finish one book and move onto the next one and you keep accumulating titles to prove that you read popular books but none of them really make sense to you then that’s just consumption!

People don’t talk about how so much of people’s identity has been built around WHAT we read that we have stopped asking what these books are doing to us.

Genre was never the point! The point has always been about if you let in whatever you are reading.

Did you read something and feel discomfort because you recognised yourself in a character that you never thought you’d be?

Has a single paragraph ever make you put the book down and make you stare into the void because it vocalised something that you were carrying for years without really understanding it?

Did it ever change the way you interacted with others?

Did a book make you more patient, more unsettled, curious or more aware of something you had been walking past for your whole life?

Because that is what reading it, that’s what ART IS MEANT TO DO.

It is not merely about checking something off a list. It is about moments where the book pushes on something real and you have to decide whether to push back or let something move you.

There is no real hierarchy of genre that changes this, regardless of whether you read fantasy, literary fiction, non-fiction or poetry - the genre is a door.

Whether you choose to walk through it is what matters.

Unpopular opinion incoming…. READING NON-FICTION DOES NOT MAKE YOU MORE INTELLECTUAL THAN SOMEONE WHO READS FICTION.

Reading actively does.

Even if you are reading three biographies a month and closing each one without a single new question, without sitting with a theme, feeling something shift or thinking about your own life differently then you have not really been reading, you have just been consuming content.

There IS a difference.

A person who reads a fiction books and lies awake afterwards thinking about power and sacrifice and what they would have possibly done in that situation has done much more intellectual work than someone who has finished a whole shelf of ‘serious’ literature and retained nothing but the feeling of superiority of having done so.

The point has never really been what genre you read but rather what lessons or questions you take back.

Percy Jackson was never supposed to feel like a god but in the Heroes of Olympus series he starts to.

When we first met him in the Lightning Thief, Percy was chaos with a sword, he was scrappy, sarcastic, surviving by luck and spite. By the time Heroes of Olympus opens, he’s not just a boy anymore. He’s a weapon that every prophecy, every god, wants on their side.

Here’s the thing: Riordan shows us this shift in a way that’s almost unsettling. He’s not the wide-eyed underdog anymore he’s the one other demigods whisper about. The kid who wrestled Ares. Outsmarted Kronos. Held up the sky. He’s walking into camp with that weight, and the books treat him like both a hero and a hazard.

It’s fascinating how his power is framed, not as something he flaunts, but as something everyone else fears, envies, or tries to control. The Romans see him as a threat and even the Gods hedge their bets around him.

Was that the point? That Percy was never meant to stay the scrappy underdog we fell for? Or that real heroism in this world means outgrowing the part of yourself that made people underestimate you?

Percy Jackson is one of the most unreliable narrators in YA fantasy

Especially because he might be the most dangerous demigod to ever live and the only reason we don’t all see it is because of his narration

Think about it, in Heroes of Olympus, Percy is a living weapon. He’s the kid who drowned an entire volcano, toppled a titan, held up the sky and yet if you only read his narration, you’d think he was just some guy with a sword and a bad haircut.

He downplays everything. He’ll casually mention taking down a fleet, then go off on a tangent about blue food or how awkward he feels around Reyna. The boy is walking Greek nuclear power and he sells himself short.

It’s not false humility but rather a shield. Percy has always narrated from the back foot, using sarcasm and understatement to keep the world from realizing how heavy it all feels to carry. The Gods know what he is. His enemies know what he is. Even his friends sometimes pause, look at him and are in awe of him.

The wild part? We still see him as an underdog because he wants us to. He never lets the narrative turn into “The Great Percy Jackson, Savior of Olympus.”

Does Prythian have an Independence Day or is that too mortal of them?

Okay but do we think the Night Court (or the whole of Prythian really) ever marked the day Tamlin slit Amarantha’s throat as an actual holiday? Like a Liberation Day? A “hey remember when a nineteen-year-old painter became our savior” kind of celebration?

Would Rhys throw a starfall-level party for it, or would the other courts see that as glorifying their own humiliation? Does the Spring Court host a “Let’s Not Talk About It” brunch?

And imagine the awkwardness: Feyre being forced to give a speech when all she wants is a quiet night with her mate and some paint under her fingernails.

Would the date be officially recognized across courts, or is it one of those things everyone remembers quietly because it’s too tangled with the trauma that came before?

What do you think? Would Prythian celebrate its own independence? Or would they rather pretend that whole chapter never happened?

Will we finally have an Elain POV? The only Archeron sister left without her own story. After Silver Flames, her seer powers are itching for spotlight, plus there's the unresolved tension of her mating bond. A deeply emotional, quiet but revolutionary arc could be everything she deserves.

Will Lucien find out about his dad? The Inner Circle is sitting on the most life-changing information for Lucien and we’re all waiting to see when they’re going to drop it. Helion deserves his dad moment, the politics of Prythian are about to change!

Will there be an Azriel POV? The shadowsinger’s silence hides centuries of grief, secrets, and unspoken devotion. His bond with Rhysand and budding chemistry with Gwyn open a delicious dual-POV possibility. We’ve seen the fragments; now imagine the whole damn audio book.

Will Mor be a betrayer? With her hidden pain and secrets (especially her secret power), is there a betrayal to expect? A POV here could break hearts and shift alliances across Prythian, and she’d excel at drama

We’re definitely going to delve more into the Dusk Court, but does that mean we’ll learn more about Rhysand and his family, will we finally get a last name!?

SJMaas just popped champagne after closing that notebook. That energy? It’s not just relief, it’s probably celebrating something that might break our hearts! The Maasverse is about to get messy.

Sarah J. Maas wrote the same story fractured across realms and each time, similar souls find each other again.

Feyre walks through death and comes back immortal, like Bryce literally falling from the sky and cracking the world open.

Nesta and Aelin both stared down gods and said “Not her. Take me instead.”

Cassian and Hunt are both wings, trauma, orders they never got to give. Men who were forged in war and fell in love with fire.

Azriel and Ruhn are shadows wrapped around men with too many secrets and a heart no one’s allowed to see.

Amren and Hypaxia? Neither of them belongs in their world and they know it.

And somehow every time, in every work, the FMC is the key to power. She doesn't want it but she is power. They're not new stories but echoes of the same one, constantly trying to get it right.

Slade and Auren are the perfect example of healing together

Auren was caged in all senses of the word, literally, emotionally and magically.

Slade shows up, turning her world and beliefs upside down. All shadows, storms and unflinching stability.

He didn't touch her chains he handed her the key and waiting for her to choose herself. He knew she would never truly be free until she chose it herself.

Slade didn't just save her, he reminded her that she was never meant to be gold-plated, she was always solid gold.

He didn't need her to be anything but herself and free. When she broke, he just waited for her to rebuild, he put the entire world on pause waiting.

Slade's greatest power was his refusal to let her dim her own shine.

Jude & Cardan has been the only ACTUAL enemies to lovers

This is not your typical love story, it's more like a cold war that developed feelings and refused to accept it.

Cardan drank himself into oblivion rather than admit he cared. Jude blackmailed him into kingship because she couldn't let him go.

He calls her wicked and she calls him pathetic.

Behind closed doors he writes poetry about her and when he's gone she's ready to burn cities for him. They prefer holding daggers to each others throats to soft gentle touches.

They are mutually ensured destruction and the only true enemies to lovers that I've ever read.
