Why Sew-ins Make Working Out Easier

                                    What’s standing in between you and your next workout?

For some people it’s a lack of time, and for other’s it’s a lack of drive.  Hair can also be a major obstacle for some when deciding when/if to work out.  We can’t argue that exercise is good for your physical and internal health, but it can be harsh on the hair. It’s true that any good workout will leave you sweating which may affect your mane, but that shouldn't be a reason to skip it. Although most people believe women wear weave for the simple fact of having long hair, it also helps to maintain the style of natural hair during workouts.

During a sew-in, your natural hair is braided down.  This allows for less manipulation on your natural hair, which helps it grow while you still get your workout in. One problem I’ve had while working out with my natural hair is I had to apply heat after the workout to make it look presentable. With a sew-in you don’t have to worry about heat damage. 3 Signs You’re Wearing Your Weave Too Long

The best part of getting a fresh weave is walking out of the salon feeling a million bucks. The worst part is having to take the weave down. A weave is an investment, so it’s common for weave wearers to stretch out their style as long as possible. While keeping a weave in 3 or 4 months may seem convenient, it does more harm than good. So, exactly how long should you wear your weave? The mixed advice out there can be quite confusing, so here are some signs you may be wearing your weave too long.

-  Loose Tracks: Just because you’re wearing a weave doesn’t mean your natural hair isn’t growing. You natural hair is still on its regular growth cycle, which causes the tracks to become loose after some time. Yourtracksshouldnotbehangingonbyathinthread.Ifyou notice your tracks are loose, it’s time to make an appointment to your hairdresser.

-  Hair Tangles and Matts While Taking Down: Dreads should be a choice, not a result of poor weave judgment. If you leave your tresses in too long, your real hair can tangle and lock. Not only does this make the take down process more painful, but it also causes hair loss.

-  Weave Looks Undone: Everything can’t be fixed with a flat iron and Edge Control. Sometimes you just need a fresh start. You know Your Weave is Cheap When…

How many times has the “you get what you pay for” notion proven itself to be true? You pay a few thousand dollars for a car, and it breaks down on you after a year. You purchase a name brand purse for half the price and later you realize it’s not really name brand. You pay your cousin $20 to color your hair blonde, but the results leave you with purple tresses. We all like a great bargain, but there are some areas of life than require an investment. Hair extensions shouldn’t wipe out your entire bank account, but they also shouldn’t cost the same as a t-shirt. We don’t want any woman falling victim to cheap weave, so we sell the best extensions at Dramatic Allusions. However, not everyone goes dramatic. Below are the qualities of cheap weave.  

  Shed: All weave sheds, but some types of weave sheds more than others. If your weave is cheap, you will find yourself sweeping hair more often. Weave shedding is related to the way the hair is weft and sealed. Other causes of shedding are cutting, piercing, and splitting the wefts. 

Tangle and Matte: Jewelry and clothes may tangle, but hair weave should not. Who wants to spend hours combing out weave? Quality hairs weaves are more manageable and tangle less than others. In cheaper hair, the roots and the tips are mixed which causes tangling.

Product build up: Products placed on low quality weave has a tendency to linger longer, and it causes build up. Product build up will also lead to hair odor. You shouldn’t need a lot of product on your hair, but if you find yourself using oil with cheap weave apply to the scalp and not hair.

No longevity: A good, quality weave usually lasts for several installs. Some weaves can last up to a year if cared for properly. If you find yourself throwing hair away every three months then it’s time to up your hair weave budget. You should be able to color, wash and apply heat to weave. If the longevity of your weave is shorter than a season chances are it’s too cheap.

    So, does your weave have all of these qualities? The truth may hurt, but if you know better hopefully you will do better. When in doubt, buy Dramatic hair.
