Ichigo, who had to grow up quickly and doesnāt have the best association with touch. Itās something heāll admit to kind of liking if you spend enough time prodding, but he wonāt consciously seek it out often. Canāt really.
Goat-face, yakuza, and eventually Hollows and even some shinigami. To be touched is to be in pain or to be dealing out injuries. Not something to enjoy (even if some part of his hindbrain enjoys the bruises and blood a little. Blame Shiro)
(There are a few spared from this fact of life but far, far too few to matter when his body still tenses at contact.)
everything has to be fine
Everyone just copes with it in their own way.
Karin and Yuzu make noise around the house, more than they need to so he knows where they are. The hugs are slow and predictable. Easy to escape if needed. He hates that they have to be.
His friends have been around long enough to get him. They know when the violence of the night leaves him sleep deprived enough to need space.
Chad acts more like a living statue or gaurdian those days, using his height to his advantage to intimidate.
The others make sure to tug on sleeves instead of skin to get Ichigoās attention. And talk louder when coming up from behind him. Itās not a big deal. This is just how things have always been.
and if he disappears for a bit to let out his nervous energy on someone or something deserving of it? Well then thatās just Ichigo being Ichigo. The town has never been clearer of both hollows and predators of the human variety.
do I like the idea of Poly- Visored? Yes
do I like weird mentor-mentoree dynamics? Also yes.
The visored take all perceived rules about his space and use a sledge hammer against them. Mostly because they have the strength to do it.
Ichigo can swipe at them with too full claws or swing at them with his blade on instinct and theyāll just dodge or shield before continuing whatever they were doing before. They donāt get shaken by it. They donāt stand a chance of get hurt by him like Orihime or his sisters would.
Itās weird to him- the idea of no longer having to be the protector. Getting to lay his shield down and getting protected is a foreign concept. For so, so long, everything stronger than him was something to harm him. A part of him relaxes at the idea of having a pack, mentor.
They grab at him. Often. Hiyori drags him everywhere, while the others lay fluttering touches throughout the day. Hachi lingers a bit during the few times the teen can bare letting someone else close enough to heal him.
If he truly canāt stand touch, clothing of theirs finds its way into his outfit regardless. At first it was just easy to excuse items, but they become more easily personalized as the group grows bolder. A T-shirt with an unclear owner turns to a signature piece of an outfit. Covering his skin in their scent, while helping guard his skin against the touch of others.
Itās care and ownership wrapped in a way only a pack could make. Would it make sense to outsiders looking into their relationship. No. But when has he ever cared about outsiders.
Besides Karin and Yuzu looked almost relieved when he walked into their house for a quick visit well fed and dressed appropriately for the weather. He hadnāt even known he was stressing them out.
