Making animation takes a village and Wheels & Roses was no exception!!! What a roller coaster ride (in the best way) this journey has been so far. It's been amazingly challenging (I personally have learned sm), and so incredibly rewarding. Caring about a personal project this much almost feels scary, but having others along the journey who care just as much makes all the difference. From the production team to the voice actors, every. Single. Person. MATTERED.
Animation is made up of thousands (literal) decisions, and I feel so privelledged to be able to have made something from the heart with amazing people at Orange Blossom and NuBoom Studios.
Some Pearl lore: I've loved the magical girl genre ever since I started watching anime/animation. Cardcaptor Sakura was my first show to get me into the genre, and I reallllly wanted to watch more Sailor Moon but the villains scared me too much LOL, so baby Pearl couldn't finish it. That aside, the magical girl genre was something that felt so empowering? For young me?? Looking back, some of these shows have PROBLEMS….. but at the time, I really felt like little me could be just like the girls in the cartoons. I too, could be magical, and do anything I wanted to do! Like have adventures!! And become strong!!!
So here we are years later, trying to have fun, spread joy, and share some QTBIPOC fun ;u;
