Finished the tail. This rounds out what I had planned for the project.
Finished the sleeves. There's an elastic band with some Velcro that runs across my back to keep them from slipping. I'll probably need to wear an overshirt or something to hide it, or I could buy some oversized T-shirts to wear.
Now I need to make a tail.
Completed handpaws. I tried doing retractable claws. They ended up not working, but they do still add bit of extra detail.
All of this is hand sewn, which is why it took three weeks.
Finished head I ended up making a pocket in the back of neck to hold the power supply for the fans. I learned a lot and I'm happy with the results. I need to make the paws, sleeves, and tail. That can wait till next weekend.
More progress. Today has been a marathon sewing session. Tomorrow I do ears, and maybe the neck.
I got the lining in and started on the pattering for the fur. I also installed a pair of 40mm fans for cooling and ventilation. Hopefully that should also help prevent my glasses and the inner part of the eyes from fogging.
1st and second attempts at ears. I'll go with the second, though the positioning needs some adjustment. The first pair has a nice shape, so they're being saved for a future project.
That's as far as I've gotten today. I spent about three and a half hours painting and assembling the eyes. They're fully sealed, so hopefully they won't fog up. The head base is from Etsy My 3d printer can't handle prints that large, and I like the kemono style.
I want to make a partial fursuit. It'll be just the head, arm sleeves, paws, and tail. This is going to push the limits of my current skills and force me to learn new ones, so it should be fun.
I needed a reference to work from for the markings. Naming characters is generally like the last thing on my mind... Maybe Emmert or Gordon? I'll think on it.
I wanted a baritone guitar, but couldn't find one at the store. The obvious choice then was to just build one. The circuit is a nonstandard one uses a 4-way switch to get the three standard tele positions along with a treble-cut on the neck in the 4th position.
Overall, it was fun to build, and I'm enjoying playing it.
Some onions that were in my pantry sprouted. I think I'm going to try keeping them alive. I ordered some gardening supplies and a window box. This is probably the worst time of year to try this, but they'll be indoors, so it can probably work. I've been doing some reading, so i have at least a vague idea what to do.
Showed the fox to a friend, who then commented that it looks like something that should be lurking in an abandoned pizzeria... I honestly can't see why.
now it walks. I need to look up some tutorials.
