I've never felt this darkness

This black on black on black starkness

I'll take a ball point razor pen and mark this

Event as I've done all the others - 

a single short line on the back of my wrist

A parade of ink on skin - 

Symbols scrawled across the walls of a temple

And a single inhabitant knows their meaning

A continuance in a way - emotions

Carved back into that place from whence they came

It's a shame that it's a language no one else speaks

And the lines are balanced - cancelled out

By the smile on my cheeks

Fuck it - no one runs to grab a bucket

When I can't take it; can't fake it anymore

And my face just leaks

It drips. It flows. Down past my nose and off of my lips

It lands on my wrist and blurs my straight lines

And yet they make more sense now

Out of murky designs

A mob of ink and all that it defines

Some sort of continuance.

If you should drift to sleep then wake

and find yourself in your own head

do not have fear,

for never were you more at home than here

Do not strain if it isn't clear

That mist is only possibility

A vapor waiting to take on a form

A Swarm of conscious inconsistencies

born of your mind and all its mysteries

that remain uncharted so that you're forced to explore them

Give them a new meaning each and every night

Give shape to the things that aren't seen in the light

and live in that world

for once this one is bright

they will slink back inside you and shut themselves tight

Go - dance with them now while the moment is right 

Let the moon move you - build with its beams

The first one takes in life and light

while the other looks into the dark

the red eye beams into endless streams

It sleepwalks nightmares; wakes in dreams

And debts your count however it deems
