Not Much Longer
So things have been going great for the most part. Baby boy went from being head down to breech back to being head down again 2 weeks ago and has stayed so far. Currently his butt is shoving my rib out of place so I'm having trouble getting comfortable, but he does this often so I'm almost used to the pain anymore. He's chilling in an L shape, head down facing in, back against my right side, butt in my rib with his feet on the left upper side of my belly lol. You'd think this kid was by himself in there and not sharing with his sister! Poor baby girl is head down as always and barely has a portion of the left side to chill in, now I know why she kicks him so much! She's just wanting to stretch her legs out some 😂 My last appt was at 35 weeks 2 days (the previous appt was at 34 weeks 2 days) and things have been going great. They did my first BPP at the previous appt and both babies passed with 8pts each, they were barely able to get partial face pics and somewhat of a foot pic courtesy of baby boy lol. This last appt they did a growth scan as well as the BPP (which they again passed with 8pts each). Baby boy is supposedly weighing 5lb 11oz and baby girl is weighing in at 5lb 2oz. They were having some issues getting the measurements but I'm pretty sure baby boy is a little bigger then she is now just from how he's positioned. At 34 weeks 2 days I was not dilated at all, 60% effaced, and she could feel baby girls head engaged. At 35 weeks 2 days nothing had changed, woohoo! I'm not having contractions, I still wake up with BH and I'm starting to have some swelling in my ankles but that's it. So far we are still going for a vbac, I'm still sticking to my guns about not being induced though my Dr said we can talk about it later in case I come in at 4cm dilated etc. She is ecstatic at how well I'm doing as well as the babies, my belly measured 43 weeks which is funny bc I don't feel that big and everyone says I hide it well lol. Even the ultrasound tech said for having twins I'm "small" compared to others. At my next appointment though my Dr wants to talk more labor an possible csection. She won't let me go past 38 weeks (Dec 1) but also mentioned they are keeping an eye on the size difference between the twins and that they may take them earlier if it continues. I'm not worried though I think the measurements are off, plus I made it past 35 weeks which was my goal. It's crazy how I swore they'd be here by 35 weeks and yet here I am relaxing on my couch feeling them move and kick from inside my tummy ❤️ I packed my hospital bag before my previous appt and have kept it in the truck just in case. We still haven't installed the car seat bases, thankfully to since we were in an accident after my last appt. Nothing major thankfully and we are fine, a 13pt buck ran out in front of us. Dinged up the passenger front end pretty good (the entire headlight assembly is busted, front passenger panel, grill possibly, etc) not good timing with the holidays and me possibly going into labor at any time but it could've been a lot worse so we're thankful regardless. Prior to the accident though we got preregistered at the hospital and even had a quick tour of the birthing center. It's so nice! Since I'm having twins I'll be allowed to labor in a regular birthing suite until it's almost time to push then I'll be moved to an OR in case we have to do a csection. I'm hoping for an unmedicated vbac and if I do end up with a csection they told me I'll be put under since I didn't have an epidural, that kinda sucks but hopefully it doesn't come down to that. They told me with a vaginal birth I'll get to spend 24 hours in the maternity suite (different area) before being released but if I have a csection I'll spend 3 days?! I thought that was crazy, I assumed I'd get 2 days if I delivered vaginally and 3-4 with a csection! My next appt is at 35 weeks 6 days, we'll do another BPP and they'll check my cervix again. I'd be surprised if anything changed but I know it can happen quick. I don't have any more appts pre scheduled since I honestly didn't think we'd make it this far. We're nervous and excited, they'll be here any day! It feels like this pregnancy has flown by! I do still have heartburn, I take my 2 Zantac a day and sometimes have to take a Prilosec. I sleep fairly good for the most part but some nights suck bc my ribs hurt no matter what position I'm in. It's completely worth it though knowing our baby girl and our baby boy are growing big and healthy in there! I'll miss being pregnant once they arrive and I try to hold on to all these precious memories bc this is it for us. Maybe my next post will be their birth story? 😊
