one thing about me is that i'll never forgive the obx writers for not giving us the jj and pope's best friends to lovers arc AND ruining their friendship with that love triangle thing and like two seconds of screentime as if in season one and two they weren't always attached at the hip
they had so much chemistry the writers had to keep separating them, otherwise it would be believable that they got with other people
made this gem this morning after seeing an artrick version
i think that what this season showed about jiara is that it has to be super forced and their personalities have to completely change in order to work
like, them looking at each other a bunch. it didn’t feel natural and it seemed super obvious that it was being used to try to bring attention to their relationship. where with jjpope, there’s multiple moments where they look at each other and it’s just natural, like the one in the car when pope looks away when jj does. or jj making a joke and then looking at pope.
i saw someone say that kiara was very vocal about her love for jj or something. but that’s the thing, pope didn’t have to be vocal. we could see with how he looked at him and touched him and what he did for him how much he loved him. same with jj. they never had to say they loved each other because we could see it.
with jj and pope, nothing about their relationship has to change. nothing about their personalities has to change in order for a romantic relationship between them to work. if they just started dating and calling each other boyfriend’s, nothing about how they treat each other and act around each other would have to change. the way i see jiaras talk about like headcanons or imagines or whatever they’re called, they completely change their relationship dynamic. they barely interacted in season one and whenever they did interact in season two (and one) most of their interactions were them bickering or arguing. any jiara post i see they’re all lovey dovey. that’s how yall want jj to interact with you, you’re projecting onto kiara
bringing this back for obx 4
once again
and AGAIN.
if they had gone for jjpope maybe none of this would have happened

“What the hell is up with you lately?” Maki seethes. “Your head couldn't be more in the clouds right now." “Just…” He closes his eyes for a few beats. “Do you ever feel like…” He opens them and turns his head slightly away, and Maki shoots out an impatient breath. “Feel like what?” She stares him down, fury and concern both in her gaze, and he swallows hard. “Like there's someone who's supposed to be here but isn't.” When Gojo executes Sukuna's vessel, Fushiguro can't escape the feeling that someone is missing.

why does it happen?
because we were born flung from it and we spend our entire life trying to crawl back
I'm reading about how Israel, in the immediate aftermath of the 1948 Nakba, deliberately replaced olive trees and other indigenous flora with European plants. This ecological disaster, which is now proudly hailed under the banner of 'making the desert bloom,' was done to 'de-Arabize' the landscape, and to cover up - often with fast-growing European pine trees -the ruins of Palestinian villages that were destroyed by Zionists forces.
And I just need everyone to read this passage from Pappé, because the symbolism of what happened to those European pine trees in the desert speaks for itself:
The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, by Ilan Pappé (2006, p. 227-228.)
i saw someone say how it is more romantic for a man to abandon fighting and wars as a whole rather than starting one for the sake of his loved one because men can start wars over anything, but the choice to abandon that nature is greater.
and of course the first thing i thought of was eren and mikasa.
we already know fighting and violence is simply a part of who eren is, so the idea of him willingly abandoning it if mikasa had just said the word is so heartbreakingly beautiful.
sirius thinking remus was the spy was absolutely not this big act of betrayal for so many reasons but i think the main one is that he suspected him because he respects him. the whole point is that he underestimated peter because he did not respect him enough to think him capable of being the spy. he thought peter would be a perfect decoy. thinking remus is the spy is sirius knowing remus can hide dangerous secrets, be very cold and manipulative, and seeing him as intelligent and skilled enough to be a worthy opponent. and peter knew that and exploited that.

I think of this twitter interaction at least 6 times a day. do you remember how we used to run?
Reblog and put in the tags a main character/protagonist you hate purely (or mainly) because they're boring as can be. ZERO spice, not a single entertaining or interesting thing about them.
The dynamic is NOT Eren gets angry, Armin soothes him. It's Eren gets angry and Armin does damage control for him. Eren slips into despair and Armin gives him hope. Armin gets tangled in his own anxieties and hopelessness and Eren comforts him. Eren encourages him, puts his faith in him, gives Armin the confidence to flourish.
It goes both ways. They have such understanding of each other, such kindness and respect the reserve only for each other (& Mikasa of course).
In reality I'm actually very normal, relaxed, and not at all brainrotted
