I think something at the core of Catradora that often gets missed (but is important to me because of how much the ship rhymes with some of the best parts of my dating history) is just how playful they are with each other.

I fully believe that even when they learn to communicate effectively and have worked their shit out, these two just...have fun with each other. Do silly shit. Remember, this is pre-rebellion Adora! RWBY volume ranking (objective)

"worst" to best:

9. Volume 1 – lowk it's really confusing if you don't already know how the world works, but it totally drew me right in!

8. Volume 2 – I like bumbleby & dance :) and train fight :)

7. Volume 9 - really really good character stuff, didn't care for the setting or aesthetic. only two good fights :( but yay ruby!

6. Volume 3 - best of poser, mostly tightly written plot, great hype moments and aura.

5. Volume 5 - very high highs (yang v bandits, weiss v lancers, cinder v raven + character stuff), meh Mistral exploration, pacing, and academy fight.

4. Volume 8 - good volume :) tiny bit underwhelming compared to v7.

3. Volume 6 - very solid overall. apathy, bumbleby vs adam, lore drops, fights! great to see team rwby back together.

2. Volume 4 - love the vibes, in-depth character and world exploration, plot, and some fights, notably qrow vs tyrian.

1. Volume 7 - tightly written, great pacing and character progression, great fights. always a fun watch!
