This part is so close to my heart.

I mean in a misogynist Westeros setting, Jaime, the Lord Commander of Kingsguard, an elite male force, chose to give credit and space to a woman.

He made Brienne a part of history by mentioning and acknowledging her role in a book that will be around for centuries. He is not gaining anything from this... Brienne doesn't even know about this honour.

And isn't it poetic that the last mention on Jaime's page is Brienne, the Maid of Tarth.

Like, if he never returns to Kingsguard which is quite possible, Jaime's journey starts from Kingswood and ends on Brienne.

But then I am a romantic!

The Evenfall Princess Necklace

I saw a necklace on an Indian jewellery site called The Evenfall Princess Necklace and it has Turquoise, Onyx and Pearls. The necklace is delicate in design, made of gold, and has blue in it (Brienne's eyes/Tarth colors) I mean this design is definitely made keeping Brienne of Tarth in mind.

My brain saw it and directly went like it looks like something Jaime would commission for Brienne or something she inherits from her mother..

It's so freaking adorable ahhh ❤️❤️❤️

You know I think a chronic problem with male ASOIAF fans is that a lot of them have never talked to their mom or grandma or any sex worker so they don't seem to realize that abuse and exploitation exist regardless of legality or societal values. "It's legal for Robert to rape Cersei so why does she consider it rape why does she feel exploited if it's normal and accepted" well you see rape exists whether it's legal or not, it didn't become traumatizing by virtue of being made illegal. "Why is Sansa so horrified at the prospect of Tyrion sleeping with her" well Chett it's because pedophilia is traumatizing in and of itself not because people suddenly decided it was harmful for shits and giggles. I'm sure you would know if you asked meemaw how she felt about grandpa beating her or her being married at 14 when it was still technically acceptable to do so.

I know Tyrion is your Bro but he is not in fact entitled to free sexual labour because he's ugly and sad. So, I wrote this one shot for Jaime x Brienne Fic Exchange 2023 for the lovely @the-lightless-star .

I have been away from the fandom for almost a year now. Thank you @jaime-brienne-fic-exchange for bringing me back into this all-consuming world of Asoiaf and of course the Jaime and Brienne fandom.

As I was feeling particularly brave that day, I picked up a photo prompt and decided to write a canon-based adventure fic. I don't usually write adventure stuff; I prefer romance, but somehow my brain's romantic library got flooded, so here we are. It was super fun though.

You just gotta unclog the pipe. Are you dumb now? No. The water was sitting stagnant because you were busy doing other things (100% fine btw). If any 'dumb' got in the water then it will quickly leave once you let the water start flowing again. Go get all the stupid out into a doc that doesn't matter. Even several of them. It might take a good while, especially if you're returning to writing after years or after a period of intense burnout, or both (waves). But you're just rusty, and letting that stop you will only ensure you stay stuck! Go forth and write some nonsense!

finally rereading asoiaf and it’s mind-boggling to me when people complain about it being grimdark because… it’s so unreservedly and unabashedly about love. in all its forms.

there’s so much love in just the first chapters. catelyn’s love for bran that drives her to catch a knife with her bare hands, ned’s love for lyanna years and years after her death, arya and jon, even those little bonding moments between jon and tyrion. “the things i do for love.” like there is horrific cruelty and unimaginable suffering but the love is so apparent when it ruptures through. it makes me crazy.
