so, in the game proper, saladin looks like this

now this is most likely just art style, but he doesn’t even have his facial hair!

I’m gonna go with the obvious answer and admit this is just art style making him look younger, but this train of thought has also left me with a specific headcanon.

when a guardian dies, they are always brought back to the age they were when they died and got rezzed by their ghosts, and since he is an axe wielding legendary badass, saladin hasn’t died in centuries, so he’s actually aging now. 

this leads me to believe that one day we’ll be in a fight back to back with this iron lord, see him finally die again, and valiantly rush over to rezz him. 

and then scream in horror upon seeing something we could never imagine, a young saladin.
