Drew: Family is extremely important to me. Without them, things would be a lot more difficult for me, especially when it comes to my glomerulonephritis.Heather: Why don’t you talk about one family member at a time? Start with your dad.Drew: Alright. My dad sort of sparked my love for sciences, being that he’s a chemist. Through that love, I was able to find my ultimate passion which is computers and computer science. I know a lot of people don’t have positive relationships with their father, but I was lucky enough to have one and I’m beyond thankful for that.Heather: And what about your mom?Drew: My mom’s a pretty incredible woman. Along with my dad, my mom has supported me through everything. All those silly hobbies I wanted to pick up as a kid, then dropped a few days later, she supported me through them all. Both my parents helped me to become the person that I am. I owe my mom a lot, every time I’ve had to go to dialysis she’s always gone along with me. I couldn’t imagine going through all that alone, and thankfully I’ll never have to.Heather: And finally, what about your brother?Drew: Salvatore is a great guy. Like many siblings, we argued a lot as a child. We argue less now that we’re older, but no matter how often we argued, Salvatore is still my little brother and I wouldn’t trade him for the world. Salvatore isn’t just my brother, he’s my best friend in a lot of respects as well.
