I have a funny scenario in my head, but have no good way to fully explain it other than this:
2012 Mikey sees Rise Mikey getting a piggyback ride from his oldest, tallest, big brother Rise Raph, and he decides that he needs a piggyback from his own brothers right then and there, so he rushes over to see his three brothers, but stops dead in his tracks because…which brother does he choose?
Well, he weighs his options:
DONNIE:
LEO:
RAPH:
Conclusion: Raph is the best pick (duh). So he runs, full steam ahead, collides with Raph, and as they fall face-first to the ground below, Mikey realizes that maybe he should’ve just asked for a piggy ride instead of just springing onto one of his brothers….
Let me introduce you to my newborn iteration of the tuts :)
Underground village of escaped mutants created by the kraang. One of them - a mutated master of ninjitsu who came to NYC to give lessons and so to say adopted the turtles (fought them off in a battle with kraang). Had family back at home. Was killed after a particularly big fight.
My OC (unnamed yet) and Leatherhead: a breach in kraang’s place had appeared, two mutants escaped. One took the power source, he ran off alone. The other was not able to keep up, stayed close and met the turtles (about a year after splinter’s death). Pupper (my GF’s OC) was mutated by accident later.
FAMILY DYNAMIC OF TURTLES AND SPLINTER:
Splinter being a good father, he still could not properly go through being mutated (his self-rejection passed onto kids) and being permanently separated from his family, WITHOUT THE FAMILY KNOWING. Deep depression evolved with time, kids try to be as interesting/good/ noticable as possible).
Leo tried hard to become a copy of his father to better understand him; works hard to be good at ninjitsu and Village’s missions in general, to make father (and the village) proud. Started parenting his sibs after learning about disfunctional families, seeing father’s struggle and wanting him to relax + his sibs to feel supported. DEEP AND RATIONAL THINKING, SELF-IGNORING, GREATER GOOD (consider God complex)
Mikey set his goal to unleash what his father felt. Being not-so-mentally-sound, he finds feelings and emotions really simple. Is always aside his family members, trying to feel their minds, provide them comfort. Becoming unnoticeable with time, starts being loud and funny, also trying to distract everyone from negative emotions (even tho knowing it to be a bad tactic; it had more instant effect). Still not feeling properly seen, separates himself and turns to his minor hallucinations/other from a mental illnes. Hormonal disbalance leads to major behavior swings. IN THE MOMENT, EVERYTHING GOES, ACTIVE INNER CONFLICT (copies personalities of fam members?)
Raph does not have patience for negative emotions (desperation, sadness). Impulsive and short tempered, bonding fast and hard, has the WORST separation anxiety out of all sibs. Initiates most fam activities, has them all together for meals, etc. Tries to get affirmations from his father, that he does the right things to make them all happy. Gets explosive when rejected/unnoticed. With time starts to ignore affirmations, acts in spite, still deeply caring of sibs, hoping for them to read thru his temper. NO PAUSE, INFERIORITY COMPLEX, STRONGEST SURVIVE
Donnie. Being easily overwhelmed, avoids much attention. Feels cared for when sibs take acts of silent attention. Father being too deep in his struggles, didn’t show much attention/acknowledging to Donnie, which made him feel unwanted/uncared for. Feels the least attached to Splinter out of all the kids. Does not take actions towards Splinter. Along with Mikey watches everyone, noticing tons of things, remembering them; sibs turn to him for advice/answer, deeming him the smartest in the world cuz of this. Feels above others since being used to everyone not being attentive to surroundings. Caught a special interest in engineering after hanging out with sum adult mutant. KNOW-IT-ALL, FOLLOWER, NO SETTLED OPINIONS?
Fam never had personal convos aside from spirit training, which led to the kids not being connected to father but naturally dependent on him as a parent figure. Poor communication inside their home, the Village does not have time to develop deeper relations but being a good coordinated community for shared goal, which turned into life goal/the only meaning for almost all of the mutants.
April lives with a dream to be the chosen one, significant. She tries a lot of things, not being too outstanding in any of them, and feels disappointment after every another try. Craves a feeling of being noticed, a star of the news at least for something small (in her view). Has a very active video-blog.
Trying another bunch of activities, she reached a pretty low point mentally. She felt that being the “hard trying underachiever, that had such a brilliant mind, but such bad conditions that she decided not to try anymore” is more satisfying than what she had been. Trying random drugs that were popular in her deep shit school, she intended to overdose in the creepy part of the city, with tons of abandoned buildings, FILMING herself. During this she met the turtles; they had been having a tough fight with the kraang, made some miscalculations, needed help. Supporting team of Villagers had been late; sometime during this, April made a choice to step in (partly out of her dream). The other option was to film everything and report evil robots. She craved to be a part of something big. She acted, wanting to accomplish that, eventually getting mildly hurt but buying turtles time to re-organize and finish the battle. Thought this was a bad-bad high trip, until she lost consciousness, woke up being nursed by mutants, met human allies of the mutants, and spent several weeks in a state of derealization.
shit, now i look at that drawing with cringe. The expressions are not quite what i intended them to look like, background is worse than i saw it yesterday (when i posted it the time in my place was like 11pm), overall style seems off to me. BUT thats the point of the challenge for me, get used to painting in color... Stick with me for future analysis of the works, maybe you will take sum for yourself :^

looked at some works from other tmnt fans and decided i wanna color like they do, so freaking cewl... So ill try this challange just fo the sake of coloring. if you have advice, ill be glad to read it!

For people who really hate tcest, it always seems to live rent-free in their mind </3 They constantly think whenever the brothers are in close proximity of eachother that its supposed to be in some kind of romantic setting. Like what does that say about you as a person
yea, if i wanna project my touch starvation onto anyone, this is gonna be THIS family where everyone feels as alienated from people as i do. Unhealthy but comforting mutual codependency ≠ romance or lust.

Either way this is what i have rn. kinda busy transforming into an adult with work and stuff so im returning to drawing just now. thats why rn its gonna be just a text post. u prolly gonna need to adapt to my wording, at times i dont get it but maybe you will.
so here are just random things that are probably settled about this au. Mikey is clinically silly (funny only half the time, i take his character really seriously. genuinely.), im talking severe bpd and, uh, medium to major communicating problems (depends on the weather idfk). prolly schizophreniac but im not seeing him in this direction
Raph most likely has bpd too but leaning towards the other end. if mikey is all-ways unstable, trusts everyone (expect he really really, r e a l l y doesn't), has frequent mood swings, raph is likely to fall into a long raging episodes triggered by abandonment and trust issues. Both have zero sense of self, but feel the exact opposite about themselves (mikey doesn't care as long as he feels - lets say - happy, and raph is gonna cry if he is reminded of his own existence (wonder who projected this onto him, surely not me, the creator)). I hipe this makes sense for someone with bpd, i wasnt eventually diagnosed but was suspected to have it,and did some research.
for leo i have so far conflicting ideas, but she is a she/he older sibling. we have some repressed shit here but also complete trust and open devotion to her family. i will make comics about it later.
donny is pretty similar to 2012 donnie since he seems to be my favorite. maybe some 2003 raph energy in terms of jokes (i fucking love how funny 2003raph is). kinda feel like he actually does have a third eye or smth, no way this bitch understands mikey and leo at the same time and communicates with them equally effective (leo and mikey dont understand each other's word but understand each other eyes (DONT ask me i just KNOW siblings understand each other eyes it makes extreme amount of sense to me), and donnie seems to understand everything) kinda wanna make him suck a big juicy ass at something academic, idk what, but he needs it. Not engineering, math or biology tho. Or languages. Idk, i would appreciate your suggestions (purple so u pay attention to it)
My sona is in this au also (but isn't a major character), they have their own arc and shit and my partner is in it too haha we so quirky putting ourselves in a cartoon :p
