I’ve always had a fondness for single mum tropes, and for some reason always been drawn to it for peyton out of all my ocs, I think it’s because she’s the most traditional when it comes to sex and relationships ; she’s definitely is the type to wait for sex until marriage, or at least make sure she’ll be with someone she won’t later down the line regret. She loves love, to be seen in such a way she needs to know love is between them ; yet just the thought of her throwing caution to the wind, having a one night stand and falling pregnant because “it took so long for me to be comfortable with someone like THAT and I want to be a mama :( this is my only chance” because she yearns for motherhood.

In modern verses peyton is devoutly catholic, and I have a headcanon she struggles with the notion of abortion as a result of that faith even if it’s the right thing to do for her ; it’s very much an internal struggle she suffers with. big note ; she’s the sort of woman who applies this only to herself, she’s pro choice and is very much the believer of “millions of women prayed for this procedure to exist in the past, god provided.” - but sometimes she does speak about HER belief generally and has caused accidental misunderstandings.

someone said "i dont like the ship ( aerion x duncan ) because the idea of shipping egg's only protector with his abuser disgusts me" and i'm not saying we all need to come together and give them a nobel peace prize but...

i really need to talk in depth about this scene &. the thoughts between grabbing the knight &. ending up in that room . egg has wanted to harm aerion for a long time , solidified by the first night in that room , threatening to harm him ; i feel as though too many people skip over egg's sexual assault at the hands of his brother , the effect that would have on him long term ( 'when i was little' is something that haunts me regularly ) - there's so much writing practice i need to do as its been far too long since i have written canon characters , there is a bit of a blockage there as a result - so the trauma isn't something i can dwell into quite yet .

what i can is this moment was encouraged by maekar's mistake . egg is devastated from his uncle's death , but the grief itself does not manifest until long on the road with ser dunk , in the moment he's disconnected from it . the feelings swimming inside him are similar ones how i imagine the smallfolks reacting to the meleys' head being paraded around as victory ; A DRAGON IS FLESH &. BONE , LIKE ANY LIVING CREATURE . not immortal , not unkillable - tough , made of sturdier stuff than most , but with the right conviction , the will behind the blade ; it comes crashing down , like a knight falling to his knees on the final swing . maekar killed not just a brother , but a dragon , the future of the targaryen dynasty ; the very man that could stop every tragedy in the future . the death of baelor made egg realise that aerion is not fire contained in human form , just human , painfully fragile ; just as haunted , just as weak as himself . the smallfolks rebellion , the storming of the dragon pit are different in many ways . . . but it's also not so different at all , its freedom , ridding themselves of a looming threat that will inevitably be their death . before duncan , egg's life had two paths ; both of which being tortured by aerion was simply a by product of being alive . there is not a single ounce of love for aerion , not brotherly , not some septons lessons that baelor tried to instil ; it was hate . egg left because he wanted to leave , but he also left because if he didn't , he'd attempt to slit aerions throat once again while he slept ; leaving was not out love for aerion , but for his father . he wants to do better for maekar , for himself ; to do that he has to rid himself of the targaryen lineage .

jaelaryon is young , yet he has seen more battle than the average knight in the realm . i believe that gogossos has perfected the notion of proxy wars , pointless things they are that exist purely to assert dominance over a neighbouring power . A REMINDER THAT THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRIFLED WITH , they bent the knee but they are not to be controlled . so long as it never touches the crown , they can do what they will ⸻ so they do . gogossos believe they have to keep their army strong , ready for anything ; that's impossible if they allow their knights to grow fat &. bask in the bonus' that comes from being labelled body of the dragon . jaelaryon is a great knight , lethal &. brutal , asking questions later ; there's so much anger that lives within him , battle is as much therapy as it is bettering his inner self .
