howdy! this is a sideblog so i don't put discourse on my main

it's been a while! i just saw a post that said i quote "there's queer ppl that are cis and straight" and my brain started to bleed a little
Honestly I am SO ANGRY that so many people reblogged that ‘lesbians and gay men used to fuck all the time before definitions and labels caged us’ post like it was the next big thing and are only now realizing they messed up when it comes out that the op is a man with a fetish for correctively raping lesbians.
That post was fucked up from the beginning and I am sick of people pushing this idea of sexual fluidity as the base state of things when it is literally! Always! Focused on the idea that lesbians can, will, should, or secretly want to be with men!
And with the whole ‘bi lesbian’ thing and this MASSIVE push to make the label lesbian inclusive to people who are attracted to men (like, folks couldn’t be satisfied with Sapphic? Bi? Queer? WLW?) And even the lgbt wiki changing the definition of lesbian so it didn’t exclude attraction to men, it’s quickly becoming a reality where there’s literally no label (at least in English) that describes the experience of having exclusively sapphic attraction.
And like it or not we’re always going to exist! And we deserve to have a word that describes our experiences! I am honestly so worried for the young lesbians just trying to figure themselves out when there’s no words to describe how they’re feeling I stg.
TERFs and other transmisogynists don’t even breath on this post! This isn’t for you and trans women always have and always will belong in the lesbian community. Get lost!
hellooooo,,. this blog is probs gonna go dormant bc imma be real i. cannot give a fuck about discourse stuff anymore LOL i dont feel like getting mad about shit that only exists on this website anymore
my views seen on here haven't changed much but i just don't have the energy for this scene anymore, maybe i'll rb stuff again but for now kiss kiss thanks friends :-)
vtubers were cool until it became 95% weird asianfishing white girls 😭
there is now research proving not only that pansexuals are biphobic but that pansexual biphobia has a negative impact on bisexuals’ mental health
The study checked how bisexual, pansexual and queer women define bisexuality.
Pansexuals and queer women said that bisexuality is binary and means attraction to cis men and women and they also “felt that claiming a bisexual identity indicated an outdated, offensive belief that there are only two genders”.
whereas actual bisexuals defined bisexuality as broad and inclusive of all genders.
It’s also interesting that all the people claiming bisexuality was transphobic were cis whereas the trans people interviewed didn’t have a problem with the bisexual label.
In addition, bisexuals expressed that they found the debates around whether bisexuality is inclusive very upsetting and it made them consider hiding their bisexuality or changing their label.
“While experiencing one’s chosen identity as personal and meaningful was not unique to the bisexual women in our sample, bisexual women often described an added layer of psychological distress upon learning that others define bisexuality in ways that reinforce a traditional gender binary, which contradicts their own definitions and lived experiences of bisexuality.“
The reason ace/aro people are not inherently lgbt is because they still have straight/cis privilege! They aren’t and never were systematically oppressed for their ace or aro identity, there weren’t any laws saying you must have sex or you’ll go to jail, no laws saying you must be married or you’ll be killed, and any that did/do exist are all on a basis of mysogeny and not “aphobia”
The fact that asexuals are comfortable enough on here to compare lesbians, gay men, bisexuals & trans people to anti-LGBT hate groups that want them dead all because they dared say that not having sex doesn’t come with any form of systematic oppression will never not baffle me.
“You saying I’m not oppressed for not having sex is exactly the same as when you were denied healthcare, housing, the right to marry & start a family. You are just as bad as the people that want you dead!!! This is literally oppression!!”
the idea that you can identify with a label because it "resonates with you" even though you don't fit the definition of it is absolutely insane. you can't be a lesbian if you're attracted to men. you can't be bisexual if you're not attracted to all genders. it's not gatekeeping it's just common fucking sense.
"friendly reminder that not all bi women are wlw <3" shut up. shut up. shut the fuck up.
if ur a v*gan by choice and care more about the ""rights"" of animals raised for food over the human rights issues of the food industry just know i hate you :) there's no such thing as a truly cruelty free diet under capitalism
Hi I am stupid anon. Idk what the prior anon was talking about but I just saw someone rb ur post like “every single time ace inclusionists bring up radfems to make a point about how ~evil~ lgbt people” and it confused me :)
You're not stupid!
To clarify before I answer: THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR DISCOURSE. MESSAGE ME OFF ANON OR BUY ME SHIT IF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT THIS FURTHER. This bit is not aimed at you, anon, but anyone else who sees this and wants to get rowdy
So, a lot of LGBT people do not believe that cisgender straight ace/aro people or Cisgender aroace people belong in the LGBT community.
A big "rebuttal" to that exclusion is to compare LGBT people excluding cishets to Cis women excluding trans women from LGBT spaces (although a lot of people group Cis LGB people excluding Trans people from LGBT spaces with this, even though that's not necessarily radical feminism... but these people have no grasp of what radical feminism is, so they lob that term that everything even vaguely related to gender or sexuality).
This is offensive on many fronts.
To begin, no, LGBT people excluding their oppressors is not comparable to Cis women excluding people they oppress. In fact, ti's the opposite.
Secondly, there are trans women who believe in excluding cishet aces/aros and cis aroaces. Calling them TERFs makes literally no sense.
And, finally, this ignores the heavy influence radical feminism has had in the early asexual movement. Radical feminist Lisa Orlando wrote the Asexual Manifesto. Anti-sexuality, asexuality, and political lesbianism were all heavily tangled into each other.
The picture on the right is often used to "prove" aces have always been included in the LGBT community under the presumption this was an LGBT meeting writing down "asexual" as an included identity.
When this was actually a radfem meeting. With the picture published in a radfem publication.
This isn't to say all aces are radfems or that radical feminist and asexuality cannot be separated. Just that this is a taint on ace history (the same way radical feminism and general transphobia/transmisogyny is a taint within the LGBT community and the feminist movement and a lot of other communities) and that trying to weaponize accusations of radical feminism or trans exlcusion against LGBT people in defense of cishets is WOEFULLY inappropriate in light of said history.
People defending aces rarely acknowledge this very, very dark aspect of early ace history (because the ace movement is VERY new, even if the identity or hints of it are not). Which makes it clear that they are using transmisogyny as a bludgeon to attack people they disagree with without considering how this actually affects trans women.
That is transmisogynistic in and of itself.
Trans women and their mistreatment by other women and by LGBT people are not tokens for discourse.
if u use having cool/good parents as a flex ur annoying
no bc theres no other explanation for doing that other than u want ppl with bad home lives to feel like shit about themselves
if u use having cool/good parents as a flex ur annoying
today’s the first day of pride month 20gayteen and i would like to remind everyone that there’s nothing strange about being gay, nothing odd about being a lesbian, nothing weird about being bi, nothing abnormal about being trans and if your understanding of the lgbt community is that it’s for assorted freaks and weirdos you need to stop
i made this post four years ago and it’s still equally relevant
I'd be way more okay with "queer" if people used it because it's a slur rather than trying to declaw it and swear its just this harmless little cute term we've used forever and nobody should have a problem with it. Like i refer to myself as a fag all the time so the problem isnt that its ~mean~. The problem is that people are fucking weird about it and its got such a specific political tilt to it thats just divorced from reality.
The other reason I dont like it is that i feel its literally meaningless and just sort of an obnoxious liberal idpol thing that kinda doesnt have anything to do with the living reality of being An Homo Gay. ive run into way too many cishets who are a little quirky and call themselves queer and refuse to talk about it in terms outside of "im queer," and ive seen way too many "queer folk" who see no issue with that and act like you're no different from a basher if you point that out.
yes im gatekeeping.
Mormon sex co-op speedrun any% no major glitches no anal
And on this week's episode of 'The Allos are not Okay' -
Yeah bc this is just an allo thing and not specifically Mormons
This is the kind of thing that literally results from being puritanical about sex, believing sexual attraction is sinful and that Good People TM are above lust... imagine seeing this and posting "the Allos are not okay" like thats not literally a mild version of the same mindset omg
If we use “pan” to indicate we are not transphobes, then we are saying that “bi” indicates transphobia. We are turning “bi” into the equivilent of “super straight” and “super gay”. Spoiler alert: that is bad.
#so sick of this #someone always replies saying they met a bi transphobe before #and like okay but ive met straight transphobes that doesnt mean the word straight indicates transphobia
i’ve met more pan transphobes than bi transphobes. and spoiler alert: identifying as pan does NOT make you inclusive. If you are gay and then you re-evaluate and come out as pan because you dated my trans ass, you are part of the problem!
