Enough about favorite books. Whatās a book you read and absolutely hated? The book youāve got a bone to pick with.
I think that media literacy step one for any video is "why is a camera pointed at this?" If there's no obvious reason for a camera to be pointing that way all the time, someone filmed the video on purpose. We aren't a fly on the wall, we're a deliberate audience.
the only fic i've ever seen that thoughtfully incorporated elements of real life dog sex into omegaverse was hockey rpf but they were breeding hockey players to produce more hockey players and they were the only ones who did this. people who weren't hockey players just had human sex
lots going on here that I really don't feel qualified to comment on but thank you for sharing it with me. enriching to know this is occurring out there somewhere. baruch hashem who makes the creatures different
fuck everything. whats the media people ASSUME youre into. what are people surprised that you havent watched/played/whatever
need a bad sleep reset
this is a very delicate operation which involves not falling asleep until the late enough tomorrow that i can get a normal nights sleep
I have done this many times and can confirm that it never works as intended. It can, however, lead to unhinged behavior that isn't always completely detrimental.
One time I tried this in middle school, and in a strange daze on the 3rd day of not sleeping, I suddenly had a mental breakthrough and could understand algebra.
I tried it again in college over the summer break. I became convinced that if I engaged in enough physical activity during the day, I would be tired enough to sleep at an appropriate hour. So I went out biking on the 3rd day of no sleep and almost got hit by a car.
Since that was clearly too dangerous, I decided to swim instead. But the local pool was closed at the time, so I had to break in. I tried swimming laps, but was too exhausted too tired, so I just lay back and floated for awhile. Which was a new surprise ability that I had unlocked through insanity, because I'd never been able to float before. Considering there was no life guard on duty, this was also a good ability to suddenly manifest while exhausted.
Debating trying this again sometime to see if I can reach the next level of fluency in Spanish.
TRIED TO COME UP WITH AN ON-THE-SPOT ANALOGY FOR BEING ASEXUAL AND THE FIRST THING MY BRAIN SHAT OUT WAS "IT'S LIKE A WAFFLE MAKER"
Ways that sex is like a waffle maker:
1. Lots of people have one but you don't really think about it until they start talking about making waffles and you're like "oh shit they have a waffle maker"
2. Messy as fuck and you know what as far as I see it why even bother when you have pancakes, you don't need to bother with all those fluids and crevices with pancakes
3. WHY DOES EVERYONE AT THE WEDDING THINK YOU NEED ONE
4. Theoretically implied fun with whipped cream until it melts and starts soaking into shit
5. If you don't prep ur surfaces ur gonna have a bad time
6. It's fun in the kitchen but only on like special occasions cause again it's a pain in the ass to clean
7. ??? I prefer crĆŖpes tbh I don't get it
Looking forwards to celebrating the 6th birthday of the post I made to describe a stance I was assured I'd grow out of by 13
hell yeah buddy you're twelve!
Whats up tunblr basically i just wrote this book with tons of dope fan fiction trope buzz woeds and gay characters fucking & sucking each other the entire book U will like it automaticaly i think since it has those blaze ths shit imediatelyš„š„š„

Can you tell me about worm?
Ok so Worm. Woooorm worm worm worm. Itās a 1.6M word long web serial that ate me alive. I have a solid 2% of my brainspace at any given time dedicated to thinking about Taylor Hebert (bug girl I love you.) the only fandom Iāve done art for or written for. Normal web serial. Come here.
Worm is a superhero reconstruction. What would have to be true about the world for the comic books to be real? The central conceit is that people trigger and get their powers when they experience intense trauma, and their power is a twisted funhouse mirror of that traumatic experience. Every time you exercise your power, you are necessarily recalling your trauma.
Worm is about childrenās rights, the abuse inherent to the structure of the nuclear family, and the way young people bully each other. Itās about several teenage girls trying their best to play with the bad hand they were dealt.
Worm is about doomed love. Worm is about two girls who are so gay for each other one of them has to turn to the camera and say no homo. Worm is about another two girls who are so gay for each other one of them has to turn to the camera and say no homo. You havenāt fooled me Wildbow. Come back here. Come BACK HEā
Wildbow when I get you. So an actual pitch:
Taylor Hebert is a teenage girl whoās a hair away from dropping out of high school because of the cruel and prolonged campaign of bullying run by her former best friend. One of these incidents was so horrible that something that only happens to a tiny fraction of people happened to her: she triggered, and now she can control bugs. Sheās trying to figure out how to use her powers and how to be a hero to escape her awful life, when she falls in with a bad crowd. The Undersiders are a group of teenage villains out for cash and a thrill. She joins up so she can learn their identifying information and turn them in butā¦theyāre nice. Sheāll get to turning them in later. She swears.
The things I love about Worm:
- Wildbow (the author) isnāt afraid to commit to changing the status quo. The world as Taylor knows it changes dramatically on several occasions.
- Taylor is a creative, smart, and ruthless character. Sheās at her best when the odds are overwhelming. Itās a real pleasure to watch someone be so good at what they do.
- The stakes are ever-escalating. This is pretty hard to pull off in a story without the Supernatural villain-of-the-season power creep problem but I really think it works here. The problems and villains all causally relate to each other.
- Taylor never really gets more powerful per se to deal with her problems, but she gets more creative with her plans, recruits more willing and unwilling allies, and flips the script. fabulous to watch. God I love her.
The first time I tried to read Worm I bounced off it. The first two arcs are kind of painful to read because of how intense the bullying is and how miserable Taylor is. The second time, I devoured it in two weeks.
Things to be warned about regarding Worm. I can be more specific if anyone is interested:
- It is very 2008 in its politics. This means there is anti-Black racism, anti-Asian racism, anti-addict rhetoric, fatphobia, and queerphobia. In my recollection, the anti-Asian racism is the most pervasive of these issues. At times it is deeply unpleasant to read.
- Not a ton of gore by volume, but the gore is explicit and really nasty. If you can imagine the attack vector of bugsā¦
- It explicitly deals with gnarly topics like bullying, domestic abuse and child neglect, the prison system, medical abuse, and vigilante justice. It does not always handle these topics well.
- Bad pacing in the first several arcs; bad pacing for a section about 3/4 through.
I love Worm a lot. I think itās worth it. I can talk about it endlessly. If youāre not interested in reading about superheroes, bugs, or child abuse, itās not the book for you. Otherwise, check it out
A Complete Web Serial
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF WE HAVE WORM TOMORROW???
Does anyone else get pissed off when you wake up just as you were making significant progress in some bullshit task you had to do in a dream? Like great now I did all that shit for nothing
the problem is i really do love staying up until one billion o'clock. it just cant be helped
Shout out to the phrase āIām going to become the jokerā for capturing a very specific and real emotion
opens my jaw real wide and does this to u
