Lifting has made me so fucking spoiled. This time last year I was so effing broke, I had days where I was like do I put $10 in the gas tank or do I buy food. Now iām wearing thousands of dollars in high-end cosmetics, perfumes, clothing & handbags and I saves so much money by not paying for any of that stuff that I can afford to shop at Trader Joeās and whole foods. Life is good, Iām happier, healthier and Iāve met some totally awesome people in this community.ā¤ļø
Posts like these make me so happy! Iām so happy for you!! š
This is why I started lifting. This right here.
I love this
Lifting for beginners: before you're good enough for clothes
Iām personally not good enough for clothes, but I have over $550 in makeup and accessories Iāve lifted.
1) the non concealment method I get most of what I have this way. The goal is to get the product without any chance of being caught. The best way to do this is to get a small item (or two, Or three,) and hold it in your hand. Slip your long sleeve over your hand, walk around for a bit, and leave. If someone catches you say you didnāt realize you were holding it. Another option is to hold the objects between your hand and your phone, then do the same thing. Iāve gotten 10 rings at once like this and itās pretty much foolproof.
2) fitting rooms and restrooms Use the non concealment method, but bring the items into the fitting room or bathroom. Now you can de-tag the items if needed, conceal them on your person or in your bag, and leave. When in a fitting room, try to take accessories on a 1:2 ratio. For each one thing you want, get two you donāt. Always try to hide the fact you are carrying things best you can. When in a bathroom, de- tag and toss the evidence.
3) trying for size I lifted a $25 ring from urban outfitters like this yesterday. I put on the ring, held the packaging in my hand, looked around for a good while, then left. This works best with bracelets and rings.
4) sleeves Slipping small items into your sleeves is discreet and simple. Either walk out or transfer the items to your bag/ pockets
5) one of a set When taking an entire set of rings is too risky, choose your favorites from the set, remove and conceal them, then put them back. Done best in fitting rooms and with the ring packages you unthread with the elastics and the holes.
About everything I know on jewelry and makeup I havenāt seen anywhere else
Cosplaying is a stupidly expensive hobby but GOOD THING IM A LIFTER
hook *finally* came in today! yeeee now my collection is complete and im set for some heavy duty, long needed, lifting. iām overjoyed and scared all at once.
and my golf detacher already has scratches on it bc it kept attracting things and it was really hard to take off without getting some scratches on it :(
The Ulta facial lifting method! āā
Alright fuckers, here is the long awaited facial method break down post at last! Sorry this took so long, Iām a lazy bitch.
Iām actually surprised that I got out and tried it out so quickly, didnāt expect to be able to make it to Ulta that soon but I had a free afternoon/evening and the car so I went for it!
First, I called my Ulta to find out if they had facilities for facials and such and they did! Then I scheduled and appointment for a 5:30 facial. The facial I chose was the Dermalogica Clear Skin Teen Treatment and itās 25 dollars, no tax or anything. Ā Theyāll ask you if you want to leave a tip for your dermatologist, if youāve got the moolah do it because itās a nice thing and it makes you seem even friendlier. Ā I returned a naked palette for store credit and had them add the money to a merchandise credit card, which I think is re-loadable.
I got there intentionally with about 20-30 minutes to spare before my appointment so I had time to browse around and put what I was going to lift in my shopping bag. Ā The key to this part is making sure you put what youāre actually going to take at the bottom of the bag and covering it with other bulky, attention grabbing things that will mask the absence of those things after you conceal them. Ā If youāre planning on using this method to take a lot of things, make sure take enough nonsense items to cover them up. Ā Thinks like cotton balls, hair things, face masks, even a hair straightener or something bulky like that since it will take attention of anything else in the bag.
Then I walked up to the little counter they had at the salon in the back of the shop and checked in for my facial. Ā The dermatologist was standing right and told me I was the one my appointment was with, she was a really nice and experienced older woman, so sweet. Ā There was a teeny little bit of awkward waffling over my bags (I had my regular big ass Zara bag [which she complimented me on, she fucking LOVED it] to conceal in and the bag with the actual merchandise in it) and at first she was going to saw āYou can leave your bags out hereā and then she realised that made no sense and said āOh, you can bring them in with you.ā Ā Just be firm about bringing it in with you, donāt even ask if you can, just hold it like you werenāt even thinking about it.
Sheāll have you sit at one of the little tables and fill out a form about your skin and such. Ā Then sheāll take you into the little side room where they do the facial and stuff, explain what your facial will entail and then sheāll leave the room to let you get undress and wrap your towel around yourself. Ā This is the moment when youāll conceal your stuff. Ā Be quick about it because youāll have about five minutes to finish because sheāll knock and maybe peek her head in to see if youāre ready but do not make a ruckus. Ā Take of some of your clothes (and donāt wear an outfit with too many pieces) so it wonāt seem like you were just standing there the whole time. Ā Just be focused and efficient and youāll be more than fine. Ā When youāre done concealing your stuff, put both bags up on the counter, the merchandise bag behind your bag, and finish getting undressed and put the towel on.
After that, youāre basically done. Ā From there, sheāll have you lie down on the little bed where you relax to get your facial. Ā Itās really fun and super relaxing, sheāll cleanse and moisturize your face and massage it, it feels really good. Ā She told me I had beautiful skin (which is something a lot of people tell me for some reason lmao) and gave me lots of tips on maintaining good skin which included preaching the importance of sunscreen and staying away from harmful UV rays.
After the facial is over, sheāll leave the room again so you can get dressed which is another chance for you to conceal more items if you want (I didnāt). Ā After you get dressed, youāll go to the counter and sheāll print you a ticket to pay for the facial with at the registers. Ā Sheāll probably chat you up a little like she did with me. Ā She had me schedule a follow up appointment, you can choose whether or not you want to do that. Ā After that, I walked around a little more and found more things I wanted and conceal them in my usual blind spot. Ā Another SA complimented me on my UO necklace and was ecstatic when I told her I got it recently. Ā I canāt stress enough how important it is to be nice and courteous to SAs, most of them are good people and it really makes their day, as well as keeps the suspicion off of you as you do your pretty bandit thing around the shop.
When I was done concealing, I went up to the front registers and paid for my facial! Ā The whole process, including my browsing at the beginning but not my extra browsing at the end, took about 50 minutes-an hour so make sure youāve go the time. Ā Itās as simple as that! Ā Not only do you get pretty things, you get a nice (free!) facial out of it as well!
Literal genius

I've been lifting for 8 years and just an fyi to newbies DO NOT EVER LOOK AT YOUR HAUL IN THE PARKING LOT. You can feel like you did everything right & then empty your bag in the car & bam, you're caught. I've had two friends get caught this way. Wait until you get away from the store to check out your new goodies.
^^ tru.Ā
it always feels so much better to have all of your new stuff spread out on your bed anyways for you to admire and maybe even cuddle with
Stores with tags and some clothing checklists.
Kinda wanna try and lift everything on the checklist at some point⦠is that too adventurous? Lol
