I dont mean to break your heart but i see your reposts and as someone who just finished Catcher today can you please explain to me how you could enjoy that book bc i dont think ive ever disliked a character as much as i did Holden Caulfield...

honestly i saw myself so much in holden he's such a comfort to me and so catcher became one of my all-time favorites,,,,,,,, like Yes he may be an asshole unreliable narrator and generally annoying but. he's literally just a kid trying to survive in a world where every adult has failed him in life. he's dealing with grief and suicidal ideation and being sexually assaulted and witnessing someone commit suicide which causes him to self-isolate and do destructive behaviors like i don't blame him that much he just misses his brother 😭 god i need to reread this at some point some parts just absolutely break my heart oughhhhhhh. i get how his internal monologue isn't for everyone though lol
