You’d be shocked at how many times I’ve almost kissed you.
But you’re not mine to kiss. (via iriswestrps)
she’s so beautiful help????
thinkin about using q'orianka kilcher as my fc for younger-tala? like, teens / young adult, the age she wouldve been on if she actually took the quest. i still love maggie q for an older fc (like late 20s/early 30s), but i def need a fc that’s younger, too

“There comes a day, when you’re gonna look around and realize happiness is where you are. We make our nets from the fibers, the water is sweet inside. We use the leaves to build fires, we cook up the meat inside.”
He is a bright star in the dead of night leading you on a path A journey many have taken but the destination is never the same Leading to ruin or greatness or something different altogether You do not care, for every moment with him is in itself, freedom

am I supposed to be grateful to have survived this?

Help; my wife just printed out a list of “things to talk to the plants about” so we can help them grow
it’s amazing how quickly mind went from “wow moana survived that fall somehow she must be a demigod too” to “oh god tala fucked the shark-head man didnt she fuck”
It’s as if the grief has made its own body / inside my body.

❛ how terrible it is, to love something that death can touch. ❜ /drifttofar lol

SIGH IS breathed heavily through nose, the motion gently blowing locks head rested ‘pon. terse change of topic causes muscles to tense, arms once comfortable & draping over inked shoulders now with digits gripping onto bared threads of skirt, as if a silent, subtle plea. as if all fibres of his being were clinging onto her, begging, ‘ please don’t leave me. you’re all that i have. i can’t lose you this way. not someone so strong as you, losing to something as fragile as mortality. ’ instead, as sweat threatened revealing true & concealed emotion, head is lifted & forced laugh would strain through taught throat as voice audibly cracked.
❛ COME ON, tala. don’t be like that. just - just relax right now, okay? you’re gonna be fine. ❜ though presumed to be directed at the other currently resting upon limbs - once strong & pulsating evidence that the owner of the body was indeed a WARRIOR worthy of legends, now quivering & on the verge of collapsing at the weight of a heart too strained to contain hurricanes of truth - it is only ‘pon further inspection that words were directed at himself. & thus, repeated in his own head, the words rang strong with every beat that STRUCK ! his mind. you’re gonna be fine. ‘ you’re gonna be fine. you’re gonna be fine. you’ll never be fine… ’
You know what strength is? Forgiving a person who wasn’t even sorry.
not to be dramatic but i would literally rather die
tala: moana....find maui and.... moana: gramma? tala: kick his fuckin ass for me.
“The name of the manta—hahalua—can be interpreted as ‘two breaths,’” she says, “ha, meaning breath, and lua, meaning two … When mantas leap [out of the water], their experience from below transcends into our sphere … Their transcendence speaks to things that we don’t yet know.”
While it is not that common for manta rays to breech, Stewart says, “We don’t always know what they do or why they do what they do, especially when we are not looking … It’s easy to put a human interpretation on their actions—they leap for fun, or to knock off particles off their skin. But the questions of what are they bringing back into their space, and how are they transferring energy—that’s where Western science stops and we don’t quite know the answers. We might not be ready or worthy of knowing.” ( x )
ok god i need to write up something proper but BASIC ideas of that verse where a young tala tries to return the heart herself:
she takes to maui pretty easily, since all the stories she grew up with were ones of him saving and giving to humanity, and even though she avoids humans for the most part, she strangely gets along with him.
maui eager to help once it’s revealed that the ocean delivered the hook to tala as well as the heart, and both of them think they are unstoppable. that is their first mistake.
tamatoa used to take to the seas instead of hide in the realm of monsters (which he does after his leg is ripped off), and it’s there that he interrupts their quest. even though maui manages to rip one of his legs off, he’s almost killed in the process, and tala escapes with maui while leaving his hook behind as a distraction.
without his hook, maui can only swim back to that island where he was exiled, refusing to voyage with tala and try again. his last image of her is of her sobbing on the deck of her canoe and screaming “i hope you rot, maui! i hope you rot!”
you should come back to the sass gramma waggles me brow
/hits you with a stick/ get off my island.
