Somehow I relate to Chert a lot despite thinking that they wouldn't get along well with anyone^^'

Chert's spot pattern is inspired by @coffibee (I think it was the first Chert design I ever saw and I just went "it's canon to me now") Really cool idea to have the two larger forehead markings mirror the hourglass twins ::D

finally made a little introduction / reference sheet for my OC Peridot ::3 I saw some people getting ready for Art Fight and decided to follow suit, excited to draw a lot of Hearthians this year hehehee Also, if anyone knows more about Art Fight, is it okay to add canon OW characters to my list? I'd love to include Gabbro, but since I didn't create them and didn't even give my version a unique outfit (yet)... Idk, I don't think I can justify putting them up there x'D But let me know what y'all think about this, if you've read this far!

Today I tried to steal study @bumblebeedog's style and made a little environment piece of Timber Hearth ::D I know it's quite rough and I didn't fully manage to get the essence of the style, but it was a quick thing and I'm happy with how it turned out.

Thank you to Bumblebeedog for blessing all of our eyes with amazing art and giving me inspiration <3 I might be tempted to draw more of this sorta stuff in the future aaaa

This one is a storyboard/animation of a DnD meme song where the astronauts are playing with Chert as the DM (but actually Gabbro is gonna be the main character oops)

Gabbromobile was/is the code name for a fanfic idea where Gabbro gets reunited with their ship. The story went pretty bonkers but I don't know if I'll ever actually get to write it because I made an attempt and already lost the plot on page one lmao

Gosh, I wish I had one WIP folder, I had to search all over the place lmao I basically sort my OW folders by different types of art, so one is just for environmental art, one for character art of canon characters, one for my own OC, seperate folders for other people's OCs, a bunch of different folders for various comic/animation ideas... probably some other secret stuff here and there... Anyways, here's what I managed to find:

Origins of your blog's name

This one is really random, I was messing around with too many different usernames on different platforms, until at some point I wanted to establish a unified online 'brand' to post my art... but because I couldn't think of anything original to save my life I booted up the most recent release of Super Smash Bros 'cause I knew it had a random nickname generator - and luckily my German copy of the game landed on 'Drops' instead of something like 'Akkusativ' - And then I immediately went "Cool, I can make an alliteration with that because I draw!"

Current comfort movie, show, book and games

So many things at once! For movies I had to think a bit... Probably something like the Lego Movie or anything that blows me away with its creativity and is way better than it has any right to be^^ Also Coraline comes to my mind, I watch that one when I have trouble getting my life together and it weirdly helps, not because it's comfy but because it makes me feel uneasy Comfort show: This one's easy - Steven Universe!✨Gay space rocks gotta be one of my favorite genders :3 Comfort book: Well... when I need to be comforted I don't really sit down to read, but I guess I might flip through some art books to get motivated :,) Finally games: Outer Wilds of course, and also TLOZ, specifically Wind Waker and Skyward Sword, which is funny because they both inspired Outer Wilds in basically opposite ways. And now I find it all the more ironic that Skyward Sword used to be my all-time favorite game before Outer Wilds!

Current Hyperfixations

Outer Wilds ofc, and for the last couple of weeks also randomly learning French simply because some specific detail about the gendering in that language sparked my interest and instead of just looking that up and being satisfied I got in too deep lol

Oddly specific thing that brings me joy

when I have leftover food so I don't need to plan and prepare a new meal for the day✨

What smell makes me happy

I think I'm the happiest when the air is cold and fresh and there is no smog or cigarette fumes or anything in it, idk if that's a smell or the absence of smell, but it is a feeling of freedom and clarity for me.

Just the Outer Wilds cover artwork, no surprise there. It used to be a drawing from my Bachelor's thesis for like the past five years, so it became time to change it for once.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?

Absolutely a member of the night owl club! I'm most awake/productive in the evening time and it's super hard for me to stop what I'm doing and go to bed, but then it's also super hard to get out of bed in the mornings. I think my ideal sleep schedule would be to stay awake for like 20 hours and then sleep for 10, if only days worked that way.

If you work, what is your profession, and do you like it?

I studied Graphic Design (or more like Digital Design in general I guess) and now I'm going through the five stages of finding out I actually graduated in Unemployment ...but hopefully I can steer my career towards Concept Art, Character Design, Visual Development, or just making illustrations and comics or something like that. I gotta keep telling myself that and maybe I can somehow survive off of that some day. -
