“It’s a funny thing coming home. Nothing changes. Everything looks the same, feels the same, even smells the same. You realize what’s changed, is you.”
Eric Roth (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button screenplay)
I am terrified to come home.

Distance hasn't bothered me up until now. Dad's due at the hospital in a couple of hours and although it should be fine, I can't rush home if anything were to happen. I wish I could be there for him.
Day 5. I love it here. I can't remember the last time i've been so content. My cousin and her husband are incredibly generous and supportive. I cant find any flaws and nor do I want to.
Day 2 in London. I'm excited to be here but the time difference is rough. I'm considering joining Tinder to keep me company but Tinder. Looking forward to Contiki next week.
The problem with books is that they end.

Being afraid is not a good enough reason to say no.
Viggo Mortensen (via thetalks)
Don’t be afraid to be a fool. Remember you cannot be both young and wise. Young people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly just cynics. Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don’t learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying yes leads to knowledge. ‘Yes’ is for young people. So for as long as you have the strength to, say yes.

I just realised I've booked my flight on the anniversary of my Nanna's death. She was my best friend who played with me relentlessly. She was beautiful and caring and the best nanna ever. Here's hoping those years of torment don't come back to bite me when I look after her great grandchild.
Body in a Box - City and Colour
We celebrate the lives of the dead It’s like a man’s best party, only happens when he dies We gather ‘round to pay our respects While their souls are still searching for the light Searching for the light
Sam's wake was one of those messed up enjoyable days. It's finally time I had a party without him and not feel guilt ridden.
For the last 9 months ive used alcohol to entertain/distract/comfort me. It's only now that i see another friend struggle i realise how important it is that i stop. I'm terrified about moving to London next month. I feel sick just thinking of it. I get wasted whenever i need to book, research or speak to my cousin over there. I'm moving 17,000kms away to look after a child and see the world. It's time i take control of my drinking. Sam, I miss you. Please make this easier.
After several days of discomfort, I’m so pleased to be able to wipe properly again. Hallelujah.
