on further consideration, i feel like druig being able to hear makkaris thoughts feels a bit Reductive to the importance of having the first deaf superhero in the mcu. and maybe even if he Could (because i believe that he can tune into this power instead of it being a state of permanence because Wow that would be overwhelming as fuck), it doesn't mean he Will. like they communicate amazingly with lip reading / sign language / body language / THEIR EXPRESSIONS 😍 and invading her mind to Hear her i think nullifies the importance of representation and disability. i also think he'd just prefer to know her as she is without communicating telepathically, it gives her no privacy and nothing to keep to herself and Yeah
