His brows furrow as he steps back. He knew his name? It takes him a minute to fully register who this man was. A person only described in letters and seen maybe in passing during his wedding. Ormund didn’t wish to stay long so he was dragged away before he even got the chance to talk to them. Tess was eyeing the other man before slowly laying down once she caught that familiar scent. They smelled the same to her so she saw no harm in him, especially as he limps forward. Daeron noted this and figured his intuition may be correct.

“Aegon?” He looks to him confused, he mounted this man. After hearing he had died by their own brother and Rhaenerya took the throne… he didn’t think he’d be seeing him, ever.

“I thought… I was told you died…?”

a flame ignited within, his anger. lord strong had informed him of rhaenyra's declaration. he was dead ── slain by aemond. the mere thought of his elder half-sister and his brother prompted his lips to twitch. he'd kill them both, even if he died in the attempt. in truth, the broken king was well-aware of the odds. more than likely he'd die in the attempt. for he now lacked both strength and his dragon ── both which rhaenyra and aemond possessed. slowly his anger faded, eyes softening momentarily.

daeron was neither of them. surely a far cry from he and the rest of their siblings. mayhaps the boy was akin to helaena? possibly kind and gentle. had their cousin and uncle showered the boy with the love he was denied from their parents?

"These people......people walking our halls, eating of our food, sleeping in our beds....are they or are they not strangers?." Came the soft sound that confirmed Helaena's voice. Stood in the middle of a doorway, fingers seemed to fidget as if she was trying to force back down that feeling of anxiety that swirls in the pits of her belly. She knows when this happens, her dragon dreams become stronger, and the images become more vivid within her mind that she almost can't separate them from reality. That she found herself seeming shaking her head at one point when another image flashes through her mind before trying to look him in the eye.

"There's a beast here.....beneath the floorboards...and someone is screaming.....something is coming."

his brows furrowed in confusion, struggling to comprehend her words. a beast beneath the floorboards. it made little sense ── alas such was a rarity. even after the many passing moons, never could he seek to make sense of her words. always had helaena been quite the enduring mystery. one he sought not to unravel. merely he had learned to question little of what she said. ever was his mind hazy, clouded by his own vices. too hazy this precise morrow. still he could taste the arbor red upon his tongue ── the familiar sting trickling down his throat.

❝ what beast? ❞ aegon's eyes flickered over their chambers, pondering briefly as to what dwelled within her mind. it was apparent she was worried, concerned even.

AEGON II TARGARYEN House Of The Dragon | S02E01 - “A Son For A Son”

"I brought him sheep everyday." Nettles said as she turned around to face him, walking backwards as she got closer to the wild dragon, not scared that he would hurt her. They were bonded together, he trusted her to be his rider. Something, no-one had ever done before.

She mostly stole the sheep but every so often when Aegon gave her some gold dragons, she would buy the sheep. Spending more money on Sheepstealer then herself.

She turned back around and jogged a few steps before resting her head against the dragon with the undershot jaw; who had finished eating and turned his head towards her.

"Come say Hi." She called out over to the prince. "He won't bite, just don't got near his sheep or he might burn you alive."

his eyes flickered from the beast to the young girl. never had he presumed she possessed an ounce of valyrian blood. for her hair was not the familiar shade of silver-gold. alas his nephews, having neither features of a valyrian, each bonded to a dragon.

the dragon appeared rough ── a far cry from his sunfyre. surely it was older, at least that was the prince's assumption. its scales were brown . . . or appeared so.

❝ you fed it sheep? that was all it truly took? feeding it sheep? ❞ swiftly he noted it's jaw, more than certain it was neither a dragon from the pit, nor one of the dragonmont. according to rumor, three wild dragons inhabited dragonstone.

he dared not to inch closer to the sheep, more than aware to the nature of a dragon. ❝ have you climbed onto it’s back? ❞

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON S03E04 - “Tumbleton”

He’s never met his brother before. Only hearing from letters and news around the kingdom. If anything he’d never recognize him till he notes the strands of white hair. Looking closely at his face from afar he shifts slightly as Tess makes a soft noise behind him. She’s close, staring the stranger down. Finally able to fly off and get a break for a while and he runs into a man he feels he should know.

“Have we met?” He calls out to him. Tessarion making a curious chirping noise behind him. He smells like Daeron, similar blood. She approves and settles down behind him.

Tess is calm so he stays where he is. Only tilting his head at him. He doesn’t look like Aegon? But he honestly has no idea what aegon looks like. Plus… he was told his brother had died to Aemond. So who is he looking at with eyes similar to his own.

the broken king had not laid eyes upon his youngest brother in many, many moons. mayhaps the young prince had attended his wedding ── alas he had been surely far too lost in his cups to recall. no longer was he physically the same man. now forever scarred. any recognition the prince would recall vanished. burns plagued the left half of his body, deeming him possibly unrecognizable.

aegon's eyes flickered to his brother's mount, now seemingly calm. the king could not recall the dragon's name . . . not at this precise moment.

slowly he limped closer, cautious to not startle his brother's dragon. each moved ignited a wave of pain ── the burnt skin stretching. still, the king steeled himself, swallowing his whimpers of pain. the thought brought forth his rage, a silent vow to slay aenond or die trying. ❝ daeron? ❞

the death of his little son had left a grand hole within his heart. a hole that prompted the newly christened king to sink further into his cups. the grief was grand ── leaving aegon wounded. with the prince's death, he was left with little choice. thus he proclaimed his brother as his newfound heir. alas, a profound sense of dread clung to his heels.

he had taken precautions. ensuring the same fate would not befall his dear brother. they had entered the world mere moments apart ── his other half. to lose aurane . . . it was a thought he sought not to imagine. ❝ you are my heir. i seek not to coddle you, but to ensure your safety. ❞

the king was confused, his violet eyes drifting over the empty hall. helaena already spoke in riddles ── every word cryptic and vague. now, it appeared he was to endure it further. the woman before him was not helaena, but rather a mere bastard. she had come alongside lord larys, clinging to his side, or was it he who clung to her?

❝ hm, another one who babbles nonsense and riddles i presume? ❞ there was surely an ounce of truth to her statement. the red keep held many secrets, including several passageways and tunnels. he knew of a few himself, but had barely scratched the surface. no living man, nor woman, knew of them all.

Alys was an acquired taste, she knew that. She played on it, people moving away when she walked by, scared to even get close to the witch. It gave her a power, more then anything a bastard would be allowed.

She preferred the burnt and decrypted halls of Harrenhall. It was her home, she grew up there, in the Godwoods but the Lord Larys had called for her after his father and brother tragically die.

"There is nothing nonsense about what I am saying My King." She says as she stands in front of him, her hands clasped infront of him as she stared into his vibrant eyes.

"The dead speak of ill omens, a warning that danger will come. Maybe, finding these secrets will save you all." She spoke adding in her opinion at the end, it was up to him if he took her warning or not.

long ago he had become rather accustomed to riddles of the sort. for helaena spouted the same nonsense. he dared not to question the ramblings of his sister ── merely coming to terms with her mysterious nature.

however, helaena bore a certain innocence . . . something this woman appeared to lack. it was difficult to pinpoint exactly what, or to shake away the profound sense of dread which trailed behind the strong bastard. nevertheless she was no helaena.

her statement was seemingly laced with malice ── a further stark contrast to his sweet sister. aegon's brows furrowed in confusion all the more.

❝ what game do you play? ❞ cautiously he stepped forward, his curiosity sparked at her warnings. save them all? it made little sense, none to be exact. desperately he attempted to decipher her words, to no avail.
