A small smile perked at his lips as she complimented the pendant he refused to take off. “Sorry, sweetie. I can’t let you wear mine. Your grandparents gave it to me before... they went away. So it’s special.” He explained calmly picking the small girl up with ease and plopping her down on his lap to cuddle. “But if you really want one, how about you and I take a trip to the man who made mine to get one specially for you? Then we can match!”

{{ Alright question time. You end up facing someone that you KNOW is more powerful than you and could probably kill you rather effortlessly if they wanted to. What do you do? Think about it for a second. Would you provoke them? Probably not. Then why oh WHY do I keep seeing it happens in RP? Some characters are more powerful than yours, with canon evidence and I feel like sometimes people just dismiss that and voluntarily provokes those characters. Then some even get mad if they end up in trouble. Why? What did you expect. Villains aren’t chew toys, they’ll fuck you up if you’re bothering them. Some might not have without provocation, but then with how your muse acted, they didn’t have much of a choice. I often feel like lots of people have their characters shit talk just for the sake of it, even though it’s completely stupid and even suicidal to do so. My own muse is known for talking lots of shit but trust me he knows when he needs to watch what he says. It’s just LOGIC to restrain yourself sometimses and not actively run after your own death.

The bitterness was met with silence, the kind that Red had always possessed since his childhood. He had shut himself off since then, when the ugliness of their world was too much to bear. Being robbed of so much of the light in his life at that time, it had been difficult to keep himself together. So in a sense, Red was in shambles, only a mere fragment of what he could have been. 

“Mm…”

  He shook his head. No, Green didn’t have to do any of that. He shouldn’t have to do anything. Green wanted him off the mountain for a long, long time – and Red still wasn’t sure that he was back here for good. He always seemed to go back. 

“You don’t have to.”

It would never fail to amaze him how Red seemed to say so much but talked so little. The level of understanding between these two friends was enough to make the brunet want to burst into tears. He wanted Red to come home but what were the chances of that? Little next to none at all. But Green had sadly grown used to the hesitance that Red possessed from their world. He couldn’t blame him. This world was sick.

“Tch...”

Green glanced away for a moment to control himself. Breaking down here and in front of Red of all people? Yeah right. Green knew better then to ask when Red was coming back. But why had he never asked? Because the answer could have easily been never. And Green was terrified that soon enough it would be. Years he had been on the damn mountain. He may never come home.

“Bastard... Only coming down when it’s convenient for you... Anyway. What are you doing down this time?”

Who did he think he was? Showing up here like he owned the damn world. As if! He had picked a bad day to not play hooky from the gym that was for damn sure. And the crimson eyed raven was proof of that bad decision. He played it off as if he was unbothered by the fact Red was here. But in reality? He was breaking and so was his heart. A slight click of his tongue betrayed his disapproval. Didn’t he know not to associate himself with a pathetic piece of shit like him? “You take a wrong turn somewhere? I think you missed your rock by a couple hundred steps.”

He honestly thought he was seeing double or at least hallucinating. He had gotten a tidbit from Lance about the previous champion. The one who retired before he and Red ever even fought over that dumb championship. Looking back on it, it was kinda dumb. But the woman he saw standing right in front of him was so different. And yet her face was so painstakingly familiar it was like stabbing him. It hurt and Green couldn’t deny the similarities.

But none of that mattered now. Even if this was some cruel trick of the gods or whatever, he wanted to know if she had any rivals/best friends she literally forced up a mountain because they couldn’t stand the sight of him. “You were the previous Champion... right?” He asked almost hesitantly.

He honestly just couldn’t understand how this could have happened. The image and news of what happened to his friend and past rival had shook him to the core. It was heartbreaking and terrifying as snippets played in his head. The same thought circling through his mind. It should have been me. It should have been me. But it would seem that the fates weren’t that kind to his poor tortured soul. Green hues blinked back tears as he stared at the engraved rock.

A tombstone to be exact. A soft sigh escaped his lips and felt the grief swell up in his heart. His faithful Tyranitar who had been the reason that he and Leaf had grown so close by his side glancing between the rock and him. Clutching balled up fists he grit his teeth bowing head as the dual rock and dark type nuzzled his hair in a way of comfort. Green glanced up at him and scratched his chin giving a watery smile. “Sorry, big guy... I know you miss her too. I wish...” Green went silent and sighed leaning his head against the rock type’s snout. “I wish I could have saved her...”
