«â» Steps, light and nimble were taken as the young child crept through the vicinities of the home, indigo hues fluttering as steps lead pass the idle furniture that laid around the house. Not a whisper passed through his lips as more steps were taken, quickly scampering across the room away from the sight of their mother. Beside himâ a giggle escaped his sisterâs lips and received a hushed âShh!â from him, before they ducked under the table, muffled giggles emitted from them.
â Hmm, I wonder where those children have gone⊠â Was the low murmur from the mother, before steps were taken to the next room.
Indicating that they were safe to hide elsewhere, the twoâ hand in handâ ran for the cupboard and closed it behind them. Though the space was rather cramped, there was no doubt about the smile that tugged at his female counterpart, causing him to cannot help but to smile as well.
That was, until he heard crunching coming from her.
â Lettyâ! â The word escaped his lips in an urgent whisper, â âWhere did you even get that from?! â
She couldnât help herself. This was far too much fun. And yet, a small quirky smile spread across her face as she tried to hold her giggles back when they dart under the table. She couldnât help but moved one of her small hand into her brotherâs. They made another break for it. They both scampered as quietly as possible, but not before she managed to grab a cookie from the plate with her free hand. Something Rick hasnât notice yet. She tried to suppress her next upcoming set of giggles.
She was pressed against her brother, if it was anyone else, they will be far too close for their liking, but they were twins. They have done everything together; it was almost unthinkable for them to do things on their own, almost unnatural. Their lives were far too intertwined with each other.
So without another thought, she nibbled on her cookie. And then her smile widen again.
âMama made cookies and put them on the table. Sorry, I didnât grab one for you.â Letty whispered back. And now she felt guilty. ââŠbut we can share!â She added quietly, breaking the remaining cookie in half and awkwardly tries to give the uneaten part of the cookie to her brother.
