How to activate Windows 10 and resolve product key errors
How to do it, verify the activation of Windows 10 to validate the copy with valid product key after update or installation
The first doubt and problem after updating the PC to Windows 10 , after having verified that everything works well, is that of product key activation.
We have said that Windows 10 is free for those with Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 , but if these are installed with a valid license, that is paid and not cracked.
After installing Windows 10 then it is necessary to verify the activation of the copy so as not to have any surprises after a month and see the PC no longer work for a license error.
The activation of Windows 10 is the initial process by which the product key is transmitted to Microsoft to verify and validate it, so that the installed system is recognized as being paid regularly. In Windows 10, after updating, activation is quick and easy, as long as everything goes well.
Just go to the Start menu, then to Settings> Update and security and, in the Activation section , press the button and proceed until the message " Windows 10 is activated " appears.

The original Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 code can still be used for 30 days, after which it becomes waste paper and is completely deactivated.

If you upgrade to Windows 10, product key and activation details are saved on the Microsoft server along with the PC data, through the Windows Store. To ensure that activation works, you must therefore log in to Windows 10, at least the first time, using a Microsoft account as a user. Activation works only if the PC is connected to the internet.

Below, there are some errors that we go to understand and solve here.
1) The Microsoft server may be busy or clogged , so you are asked to try again later.
Disabling the antivirus can also help (for me it worked).
2) A network problem prevents activation of the Windows copy (Error code: 0xC004FC03 ).
This activation error occurs when the PC is not connected to the Internet or if there is a program such as the antivirus or the firewall prevent the online activation process from completing.
Make sure you are connected to the Internet, turn off the firewall, and if this problem still occurs after a few days of trying, try activating Windows by phone.
Another network problem is that of DNS (error 0x8007232B) which indicates a limited or no connection.
3) If an error appears whereby " this specified product key can only be used for updating, not for new installations " (Error code: 0xC004F061 ), it means that a clean installation was made before having done the 'update.
To solve this, we need to reinstall Windows 7 or 8.1, activate it with the code in our possession, update and then reinstall from scratch.
4) The server reported that the product key has exceeded the activation limit (Error code: 0xC004C008 and 0xC004C020 )
The error occurs if the code you are trying to use has already been used on different PCs or if it has been used on more than one PC.
Keep in mind that a product key only applies to a PC unless a different license has been purchased.
5) Product Key not working (Error code: 0xC004C003 )
This is the activation error that appears if the product key is invalid.
6) Security error ( Error code: 0x80072F8F )
This error is solved by changing the date and time of the PC so that they are correct.
Go to Settings> Time and language> Date and time
7) Unspecified error ( Error code: 0x80004005 )
The unspecified error can be solved by manual activation, going to Settings> Update and security> Activation. If nothing has worked above, it will be necessary to reset the PC.
Windows 10 can also be activated from the Control Panel , under System .
