She stiffened. "No one’s trying to be a hero, I’m just doing my job." Minami’s glare turned steely as her adversary drew closer. Should she have a Pokemon pluck the woman off the rock face, or let her continue climbing? The Ranger decided on the latter, hoping the other would be too fatigued upon reaching the top to pose much of a threat. "Just answer the question, who are you?"
’’Oh, modest are we?’’ Diane wasn't going to give up this expedition, obviously she had backup, she had acquired a get away vehicle just on the other side of the cliff where she would get to as quickly as possible, so that the humble ranger tailing her wouldn't follow. She kept climbing. ’’It’s nothing you should concern yourself with!’’ She called down, practially taunting the ranger below her.

"E- Eh?!" Lucy took a step away from the murderess, "I must be dreamin’!" it only took a second before regaining her composure.
"Wait! I’ve ‘ad this dream before! Y’back from th’ dead t’ tell me Prof’s a murderer again. Well I’m ‘avin’ none o’ it this time!"
She pointed at Diane, “I proved without a shadow o’ a doubt that Prof were innocent o’ killin’ y’da! And nowt you could say will e’er make me doubt my deduction!”
"Oh, Ms Baker I assure you this isn't a dream." Her tone was serious unlike how it usually was, "No, this is reality!" She chuckled.
"Nor am I 'back from the dead' as you so eloquently put it, no, I simply employed a person to pose as me at Forbodium in case of any... complications." She started pacing around the room.
"She obviously failed to execute her job but," She paused slightly, stopped pacing and turned to meet Lucy's eyes, "the choice proved to be a good one because I'm still alive!" She smiled.
"Oh,I’m sorry then I thought you were someone I knew. After all not many know about the village." He asked messing with the ring on his hand. Her voice was Diane’s for sure, but she obviously wasn’t the one he knew.
"What is your name then Miss?" Chico asked putting on a smile.
Diane dug herself in a deep pit of mud now, as it seemed. She had to think up a lie quickly to get herself out of this. But if the boy knew her name, he must know about her. But how? She was so careful not to leave traces of her true identity anywhere in the village, even going so far as dressing as a native to eliminate any doubts.
"Ah, well, my name is Sofie. Nice to meet you..." She paused, "I don't think I caught your name." Her tone was soft and polite. Most would not be able to tell she was lying.

True to form, Alfendi wasn’t in the best of moods. His day had been filled with appointments and meetings and every other worthless task that Scotland Yard could possibly throw his way. It was enough to drive him insane.
As the evening drew close, however, the inspector was finally able to shut himself away in his office and busy himself with work he deemed to be of import. He sat, hunched over his desk, in the dim lighting of the Mystery Room, scribbling furiously as he attempted to catch up on the work he’d missed.
When the office door was opened, interrupting his work, Alfendi was naturally rather irritated, and he was more than willing to unleash his frustration upon whichever poor soul had walked into his office.
"What the-?"
The inspector was abruptly cut off as he realised the person before him was nothing more than a child, and he swallowed his words quickly, looking up at her with the friendliest expression he could muster in his current frame of mind.
"Hello." he greeted. "Are you all right?"
Diane was finally going to pay the man who murdered her father a visit. Obviously not with the best of intentions of course. Hidden within the several compartments of her purse were an array of deadly weapons; all small enough to fit in the palm of her hand.
Yet all this was her normal expeditionary equipment. Diane was not idiotic, and naturally wouldn't kill the inspector in his own office, let alone expect to pass all those weapons under any type of high security she may be faced with. Therefore she took only with her what she was certain could pass any security, in case of...adverse situations.
However the point of this little expedition was not to harm the inspector, no, it was to gather as much information of him as possible, directly from the source itself. She paused outside the door before stepping in, refining her plan, and proceeded to softly push the office door and enter as if it were an everyday occurrence.
She noticed the annoyance on the inspectors face as she walked in and smirked to herself. However, when he softened his tone, she was very much surprised and annoyed. He obviously hadn't recognized her. Ah, well, she supposed she could use this to her advantage and lie about what kind of tie she had with the inspector.
"Oh, Alfendi! You can't have forgotten me already, surely!" her tone was sarcastically accusatory as it always was, but an innocent look remained on her face as a contrast to her attitude. "Have you?"

Chico stared at the woman in front of him. She was Diane Makepeace that was for sure. But was it the one he knew or an alternate? Well there was only one way to find out, even if it could possibly get him killed. Chico walked up to the woman and tapped her shoulder.
"D-Diane?"
Curiosity got the best of Diane as she wondered what could have become of the village she left behind as Mariana Etista, so she decided to pay the small town a visit. Obviously wearing her normal fancy clothing would get her mugged and possibly killed, so she came in an inexpensive looking low grade dress. It was a deep purple and made of durable material however, so that somewhat compensated for the wardrobe change. Shocked by the sudden tap on her shoulder, Diane turned around with the fury of 100 suns. However, when she realized it was Chico, she wondered how he knew her name. Her real name. No matter, she mustered the most cold and distant voice she could and answered the boy.
"No, sorry, you must have the wrong person."
//hug Alfendi Layton. (for that meme thingy)
And this…
Is where Makepeace’s bubbly attitude falters and breaks.
"Hug that son of a—" She caught herself. "That papa murdering criminal —no thank you very much.”
She wondered what would happen if she didn’t obey. Ah well, she’d find out!
"… Eh?"
"… That wad’nt it? You’re the real Diane Makepeace?"
"Are you tellin’ me you set up a fake?!"
"B-But why would you- That’s terrible! That took someone’s life!"
… Suddenly, a bit more past the moral dilemma of the issue hit her, making her grow very uneasy.
"Y-You know the Prof’s not the one who killed your Dad now, right? Or your fake? You aren’t going to try hurting him again, is you? What are you even doing here?"
"Heh, you expected me to put myself in danger? I bet she died gladly, serving me." A little too heavy on the egoism Diane.
"I'm glad you have some sense, Ms Baker.
But that man isn't to be trusted!
You don't know the real Alfendi."
She brought a hand up to her lip, "The crazy, murderous, criminal who killed my father most unjustly."
//I could go so far with my Diane puns but they're so cruel I don't think I should..
I will obey the next 5 commands in my ask.
"Ways or not, you was shot right through the head! You din’t have a pulse! Dead!”
"… Oh wait, I think I gots it!"
"You aren’t really Makepeace, are you? You’re someone who looks like he’! Someone tryin’ to prank me, maybe?!"
… Well, at least she’s confidently wrong.
"Yes, the girls's death would have been near instantaneous with a shot piercing the temple. "
"But that girl wasn't me."
"Oh, well that maybe at the end of your sentence makes you sound so very sure of yourself but sadly, "
"Your wrong.
I'm Makepeace in the flesh."
