RIP Goatlings

I started playing Goatlings casually in 2021 as a break from Webkinz burnout. I would mostly pull it up on my phone browser and do as much battle center as I could on my lunch breaks at work. I poured a lot of time into making up goat lore, and art for some of my favorite goats, and the community was always super kind and welcoming. I participated in MM 2024, but missed the signups for MM 2025... only to come back to a white screen announcing site closure. I don't know all the drama details with Krisgoat, since I was pretty inactive when everything went to crap, but I hope those affected by her behavior are doing well. I really loved the site, in spite of how badly run it was at times, I think the community and creativity that users made for themselves really kept it alive. I'm really going to miss it, but at least I got to archive my goats and I can make them into legally distinct OCs to use in Art Fight next year lol

I KNOW it's highly unlikely that the Super Mario Galaxy movie will cast seasoned voice actors, given the all stunt casting of the Super Mario Movie. That being said if they got Anna Graves (VA for Satine Kryze in TCW) to voice Rosalina, I would be INSUFFERABLE about it. Like climbing the walls and frothing at the mouth. It won't happen, but ughhhh can you imagine Rosalina sounding like Satine?? CINEMA I TELL YOU.

Penny (Wise) Basset austism headcanon

Look, no one ever talks about Penny in conversations about autistic coded AiO characters but they really should. Seriously I could make a whole video essay about how much I related to her as a young autistic kid. The whole "buying a book on body language so I can finally understand what people are thinking/feeling even when they don't tell me" episode is my number one piece of evidence for autistic Penny, but there's so much more once you start looking for it. The happiness episode where we see her day being ruined by a slow piling up of things not going according to plan, and no one really understanding why it affects her so much. Her trying to mask in front of her parents because she thinks they're prouder of her (probably neurotypical) sister. The episode where she self isolates to avoid having to ask for help after she loses her job at the college and has to live out of her car. And it's never directly stated that she wanted to attend a different church than the rest of the cast because she was overstimulated by the contemporary worship service, but I strongly headcanon that to be the case. (mostly because I went through something similar irl)

Anyways, I'm not a youtuber or anything, but maybe someday I'll make a deep dive no one asked for about this lol

I promise I am very normal about The Duchess Satine.

I definitely haven’t seen every TCW episode with Satine over and over again instead of watching other TCW episodes. I don’t have 26 tabs of Satine centric fanfiction open in my phone browser right now, and I’m certainly not writing a Satine fic to deal with my stress. I did not get the Obi-wan and Satine track at the top of my “on repeat” Spotify playlist. I definitely don’t have a to scale replica of Satine’s portrait that she has hanging in her palace. My user name is definitely not a pun on Duchess of Mandalore. I’m extremely normal about her. Extremely.

I wanna draw the Armorer from the Mandalorian fighting Technoblade. I feel like she’d take issue with him killing orphans and they have similar aesthetics/color schemes and both use mostly hand to hand combat so it would look really cool. I want them to be sworn nemeses so bad y’all, it would be awesome.

Look, I liked season 3 of the mandalorian as much as the next person, but I didn’t spend YEARS of my life hyperfixating on Mando’a just to have it never spoken in the show. Here are the top 5 times they could have used Mando’a in the show but didn’t: (Mild to MAJOR spoilers as the list progresses)

1: FAKE SWEARS! be gone “Dank ferrick” replace it with “Haar’chak!” (Translates to Damn it!) or “Bic ni skana’din” (translates to something like “that really ticks me off”) or “Osi’kyr!” (A strong exclamation of surprise or dismay) what I’m saying is they have lots of options other than using generic Star Wars fake swears.

2: Vod/Vode. There’s a few times throughout the series where mandalorians refer to each other as “brother” or “sister” when vod (mando brother/sister singular) and vode (mando brother and sister plural) are right there.

3: Dar’manda means someone who is no longer mandalorian, and the Armorer could have totally used that to describe Din instead of “apostate”

4: Bo-Katan reads from a plaque in the mines that she says is written in Mandalorian, it would have been very cool for her to read it in Mando’a and then translate to basic.

5: and this one kills me the most: THE GAI BAL MANDA! Din adopts Grogu as his own in season 3, but it would be really cool if he said the Gai Bal Manda— the traditional Mando’a phrase said to officially adopt a foundling as your own. Traditionally all you need to do to adopt a child in mandalorian society is to say “Ni kyr’tayl gai sa’ad” followed by the name of the child you’re adopting. The phrase translates to “I know your name as my child” which is so beautiful and would have been awesome thematically, since Din didn’t always know Grogu’s name and referred to him as “the child” for like 2 seasons, but now he both knows his name and accepts him as HIS child.

After the fall of Mandalore and her death by Maul, the Duchess Satine is given a second chance at life. She finds herself alone, wearing death watch armor, in a ship piloting itself to Concordia.

This is how Satine is found by the sect of Mandalorians who follow The Way of the Mandalore.

Despite their differing ideals, the tribe allows her to stay with them, at the behest of their Armorer, who has faith that Satine may be redeemed.

Will Satine gain a new understanding of the creed she rejected in her youth? Or will her stubbornness lead her to yet another death at the hands of her enemies?

A.k.a the first chapter of part one of an AU based on a crack theory my fiancé made up in a Walmart parking lot.

Y’all I got very sick this past week and instead of resting, I’ve been opening google docs on my phone and writing Duchess Satine fanfiction based on an insane crack theory my partner and I came up with at storming Walmart. Anyway I’m not sick now and I reread it, and I think it’s shockingly readable for how out of it I was when writing it. I’m gonna keep working on it for fun, idk if I’ll ever release it though. Feels good to write again regardless :)
