It would be a lie to say that he didn’t feel at least a little bit jilted. Or. Or wait. That actually wasn’t a no. She didn’t really show any signs of refusing; definitely not like how all the other girls he asked reacted. So she must’ve just been thinking on it. The question was asked rather abruptly. And no one said it was bad to take some time to think about life matters, right? So if he just gave her some time, then he’d eventually get his answer, right? Right. This all sounded pretty good to him. At the very least, he knew not to hound her about the proposal. No, that would just be rude.
Claire’s mulling ended once the bike glided to a halt and he watched the woman walk over to the grass. Curiosity hit a peak and Claire hopped off the bike, took off his helmet, and sat down beside her, landing on the soft grass with a dull thump.
” ‘s an usual spot for a date, don’cha think?”
As expected, he soon joined her on the grass and to his question she started, using most - if not all - of her willpower to not sock him one right in the face. Instead, shoulders raised in the pantomime of a sigh, the phone appearing so that she could busily type her reply before presenting the screen to read.

There was a pause and she pulled the phone back, fingers once more pressing upon the keys. Again, the glow of the screen was almost pushed into his face as she attempted to explain herself.

The phone slid shut and she put it down between them, helmet now shifting so that her attention was focused upon the sky above them.
