When she was sure he was secure, she gestured that he should hold on and she sped off, zooming noiselessly between the cars now that traffic had started to pick up again. Of course, she heard his question — but chose to ignore it, feeling herself regretting this entire encounter. On some level, he reminded her of Shinra and she sighed inwardly at the comparison. The last thing she needed (or wanted) was another overzealous man in her life.
Instead, she focused on her true destination - the very outskirts of Ikebukuro. The one good thing to come out of all of this was that the sun was beginning it’s descent into the horizon. Besides, he chose to come with her, didn’t he? Patting the flank of the bike affectionately, she walked a ways away before setting herself down onto the grass.
It would be a lie to say that he didn't feel at least a little bit jilted. Or. Or wait. That actually wasn't a no. She didn't really show any signs of refusing; definitely not like how all the other girls he asked reacted. So she must've just been thinking on it. The question was asked rather abruptly. And no one said it was bad to take some time to think about life matters, right? So if he just gave her some time, then he'd eventually get his answer, right? Right. This all sounded pretty good to him. At the very least, he knew not to hound her about the proposal. No, that would just be rude.
Claire's mulling ended once the bike glided to a halt and he watched the woman walk over to the grass. Curiosity hit a peak and Claire hopped off the bike, took off his helmet, and sat down beside her, landing on the soft grass with a dull thump.
" 's an usual spot for a date, don'cha think?"
