QUESTION: Could Jon have been deprived of the Night King kill, which is far closer to his actual story, because they wanted to have him kill Dany and not give him too many of the iconic stab moments in the same season? Or conversely made to stab the “evil queen” because his actual stabbing of the “evil king was taken from him? And Arya wasn’t allowed to kill Cersei despite reciting her name for years–not even the possibility was raised despite her very appropriate skills which may have enabled them to avoid a war altogether–because she was already given the NK kill?

I don't think it is a stretch to think that this is how the childish mind of D&D works at all.

Besides, they did not want Kit and Lena shine as actors. Jon’ s plot in season 8 is a frustration after another

The idea of Daenerys ending up living in a house with a red door and with a riad with lemon trees, it’s just… it’s too much. This would have been such a highly emotional ending to her story.

Daenerys deserved to go back to the place she loved as a child. Perhaps this time, she could have shared her home with the orphaned, the starving and the old. She could have opened a home for her vulnerable followers, her people. The people that chose her.

Circular storytelling only really works when one is able to go back home, changed and more in tune with themselves and their needs… They really abandoned her hero’s journey completely and turned her into a villain…

sansa lied to jon at the battle of the bastards. she risked two of her brothers lives. she admires cersei. she wanted to punish two innocent children for crimes they didn’t do. she was contemplating killing her sister. sansa risked jon’s life by telling everyone about his targaryen half. she disregarded jon’s love for dany. she broke a promise to her brother while under a weirwood tree. she co-signed jon being unjustly exiled so she could claim the north. she laughed and scoffed at the idea of the poor people of westeros electing who rules over them.

she is perpetuating the wheel that crushed her entire family and millions of others. she is a monster.

Bryan Cogman in a podcast talking about how he labored for two weeks writing a Sansa-Theon scene where they just discuss things that happened to them - he ultimately ended up not having that scene in because people already know about what happened to Sansa and Theon.

But he could not spend a day laboring on Jon introspecting about how his whole life was a lie and Ned and Lyanna and Rhaegar? What about a little scene where Jon has a little talk with Sam about this? Since Robo-Bran is unfit for these conversations. Or a little scene with Jon and Arya discussing everything that has happened to them?

It sort of sucks that the first two character episodes where written by Dave Hill who is average at most and then Bryan Cogman who gravitates towards certain characters he likes - he admits in the podcast that he spend so much time writing in scenes with Sansa and Theon because he wrote a lot for them earlier and wanted more of them for his last episode on the show. He’s also a fan of Jaime, Tyrion and Brienne.

And that’s why we got so much Jaime and Tyrion sitting and talking around and nothing for Jon and Arya who reunited for 2 minutes and that’s all we have despite these guys not seeing each other for 7 seasons.

Well, the next 4 episodes are David and Dan. Let’s see what they have to offer.

I wish GRRM would write the bloody books and give us at least one more book. Because, at this point, I am only waiting for the ending. So I know how everything ends for characters I like in a series I have been following for some 20 years.

I assumed Bran talked to him, offscreen or something, because at the end of the episode after beign almost absent, Jon seems very reassured of the facts.

And the whole scene was filmed in the Daenerys POV, as if Jon himself was just the narrator, some sort of Robot-Bran at service ofDaenerys plot.

To me these 2 episodes have being a disappointment, narratively week, fanservice, and boring as a whole. So much time wasted in 3 or 4 scenes with Jaime and Tyrion, and no iSight of the man who sacrificed everything to save them all in his time of sufferings.theyndid not even gave him Ghost to mourn with, he was a just a decoration in the background.

And if D&D are our only hope, well, I can't be very optimistic.

As I said on a fic called Alone, the only one I found about 8x02 Jon’s POV, there are almost no fics or even metas about this.

We did not get to see his full reaction to the reveal. And I think it is cruel. A cruelty of the writers or their laziness, I don't know what is worst.

He is not a background character as they made him seem the whole episode, just worth of screen time for shock value, and his impact on other characters. And for Ghost to just appear in the background in that meaningless scene... So insulting! Jon needed him as he needs Daenerys. And when he finally is ready to talk to her at the end of the episode, he does not show any of the emotions you portrayed in your fic: desperation, hurt, lonliness, guilt...

He deserves better.

So, because I keep getting a lot of anonymous hate for being a Sansa hating Dany stan, I would like to make a small correction for those interested.

I am a Sansa disliking JON stan, not a Dany stan. Kindly get that right, when you send me the anon hate. The few Dany stans I do follow tend to very much like Sansa and seem to walk around eggshells where the character is concerned - often having disclaimers about how much they love Sansa. I am not that person.

I dislike show Sansa. She’s nothing like the charming, courteous book version. Show Sansa is rude, petulant, whiny and does not seem to understand that openly questioning her king again and again in front of the lords, undermines the position of that newly elected bastard king. She treats Jon like an idiot, mocks Davos, is rude and dismissive of Brienne and demands that Arya get down on her knees and thank her because she and only she won the BOTB. She has no friends or confidantes. The only two lords who supported her over Jon last season were described by Sansa herself as disloyal ‘weather vanes’. The only person who genuinely liked her and wanted her to be queen was LF and he’s dead.

My dislike for the character was cemented last season when she compared Jon to frigging Joffrey because he did not follow her orders and do what she wanted. Jon’s authority as King would have vaporized if he had done as she demanded in there. But because he forgave those Karstark and Umber children, Sansa was so angry with him here:

that she informs Jon that he was behaving like Joffrey when he requests that she not try to undermine him. Just think about that. Sansa thinks that Jon - who has only ever looked out for Sansa, who helped her and protected her - is like the king who beat her and took sadistic pleasure out of it! She compared this guy:

How petty and stupid does one have to be to make that comparison? Ugh!

Even Jon, who usually puts up with her horseshit, is so offended by this that he immediately stops walking and confronts her - forcing her to walk back that statement. Sansa realizes that she has overstepped and changes tact - trying to now praise Jon - but Jon sees through this and aptly describes her praise as a whole load of horseshit. People think Jon is an idiot, but he is not. He can see through what Sansa is doing. Having correctly identified how resentful she is that he was made KITN, he leaves her in charge when he goes south.

I am just tired of Sansa’s non-stop whinging in all her scenes with Jon. It’s unpleasant, annoying, boring and freaking repetitive. I just fast forward their season 6/7 scenes on rewatches because all they do is argue. Jon does not want your unsolicited advice Sansa!

If there is one thing I am hoping for next season it’s that Jon and Arya spend as few scenes as possible with Sansa. Sansa can become Queen of the North, Queen on the Iron Throne, Best Queen the world has ever seen for all I care. Just leave Jon and Arya out of it. I just want some Jon scenes where Jon spends time with his favorite sibling, his best friend, his dog, his girlfriend, his brother, his old pals and new ones.

How anyone can ship Sansa and Jon is beyond me. A Sansa fan who dislikes Jon? That I can understand and even sympathize with considering my dislike of show Sansa. A Sansa fan who ships Sansa with Jon? Totally baffling. They have nothing in common, they think too differently, Sansa has no problems lying to Jon and undermining him, Jon does not want or need Sansa’s ‘advice’ - the both of them would be far happier if they were far away from each other.

Which is why Sansa is going to be the one to suggest that Jon and Dany get married and leave the North to her. LF has already given her the hint for this last season - that line was in there for a reason.

I never post on Tumblr, but I had to say this, thank you, thank you, thank you!

For openly expressing your dislike of Sansa, it baffles me that people makes not liking her a matter of not being a feminist, because I am, and I can sympathize with her experiences, but that does not give her a blank check to do as she likes, and to feel above everyone else, and does not keep me from disliking her for her actions.

You talked about season 7 Sansa, but the beginning of the crack ship was in season 6 when in my opinion she was her worst with Jon. She has being abused and manipulated by other people, and as soon as she reunites with Jon and ask for his forgiveness, she does the same to him: emotionally manipulates him when he is psycologycally at his lowest after being murdered, into going to war for Winterfell (that hand grab was a not so subtle manipulative move), and only succeeds when she tells Jon that is to save Rickon’s life,...just to tell him the night before the battle that he should left his broder for dead! How cruel is that!! And the consequences were clear, Jon consciously made an estrategic mistake to save Rickon, because he was his reason to fight.

And now, like you, I just hope that in season 8 they share the little scenes the better. But, as I am afraid, her plot would be to fully accept her circumstances, and break with her prejudices and classist way to treat with people, and that involves Jon, and how wrong she and her mother were about him being inherently bad for being a bastard, because he is not.

So, we will have to skip some scenes In season8 too ;)
