“Who says I’m saving face? Dearborn, you don’t know me personally, but I can guarantee you that I’m being my true self. Finally the Raven is learning when it is best to keep quiet.”
“Ok. Alright. I’m smart enough to know when it’s a lost caused. Goodbye.” Caradoc turned to walk away.
“Well, that seems like it’s probably just good sense. I hear there’s some pretty nasty creatures under there.”
There is some pretty nasty creatures in the Forbidden Forest to and that turned out rather well.”
“I think we are both making things awkward, personally. Shall we start again?”
“That sounds good.” Carardoc cleared his throat and extended his hand. “Hello my name is Caradoc.”
“Really? And here I thought you were some sort of world traveller…”
“Even world travelers haven’t seen everything. And plus, what I haven’t explored mostly is under the water.”
“No, no, not at all. I apologise, I’m being rude.”
“How are you the rude one? I’m the one staring and making things awkward.”
Homework Club || Regulus and Caradoc
“You had actually intended to go in the lake?” Regulus cocked a brow, why did Caradoc think that he would agree to that? He watched the other silently and gave a small nod. “Yeah, it is that way.” Deciding it was in his best interest to lead the way toward the lake, Regulus walked ahead of Caradoc, glancing back at him when he heard the other mumbling. “What spell?”
Well..... ya, but I wasn’t thinking you would so much. Just seeing...” Caradoc looked at the ground. He realized he had probably said something stupid again. If only his brain didn’t work so much faster then his mouth. “I’m trying to make a spell that finds things just by imagining it. I know other spells work similar to that, but they still require knowledge of the location to use them. I want it to find things you don’t know anything about.”
“Imagination isn’t going to secure your future, knowledge will. Only very, very rarely do you get by on imagination alone.”
“I didn’t mean just imagination. Of course you need knowledge. I’m just saying that knowledge on its own is useless. You need imagination to know how to use it past how people tell you it’s to be used.”
“You’ll find it impossible to sneak around the subject when you are speaking with a cunning snake. I can learn, but someone of my status do not learn anything for someone of yours.”
“You don’t need to try and save face here. It’s just the two of us.” Caradoc sighed, “I think I’ll just stop trying. You can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped.”

“I’m aware there is plenty to do that isn’t against the rules. It’s what I tend to do.” Regulus crossed his arms over his chest, his head cocked slightly to the side as the other contemplated. “To the lake…alright. If you’re implying we go in the lake, that is off limits, and I have no swimming attire with me right now. I’m in enough clubs though.”
“No going in the lake. Got it. There’s still plenty to do around the lake, so I don’t have a problem with that.” Caradoc stood up and looked around. “It’s that way, right? I swear my brain some times.” He laughed, “No matter how much of this school I have mapped out, I still forget where the place I’m trying to find is at times” The Ravenclaw looked at his wand and mumbled to himself, “I hope I can get that spell down soon.”
“Perhaps.” Narcissa blushed a little, not entirely sure why Caradoc was joking around with her. “I suppose that’s something, at least.”
“I’m sorry. I’m making you feel awkward aren’t I? I can be that way some times.”
“Yeah, I know who he was. I think in some cases that might be true, but not always.”
“Why do you say that? We would not have almost all of our knowledge if some one had not had that imagination to find it.”
“You teach me something? How hilarious. I would assume you would’ve learned something from your peers about me but I do not listen to such people if they offer their help. If I truly do or don’t, it really isn’t any of your business now is it?”
“That’s why I went about it in a different way. I hoped that you just refused to learn from people, but now I know...... you just can’t learn. I hope for your sake that changes.”
“Truly nefarious. I’ve got to say, I’m afraid you might be a bad influence. Have you ever considered it?”
“Of course I know.” Caradoc smiled, “My friends and I do a lot of stuff we aren’t allowed to do. Of course unlike some groups of troublemakers we generally don’t get caught.”

“Me? It depends really. Mostly quidditch or reading.” Of course among other things he wasn’t prepared to mention. He shrugged, assuming the other thought of him as rather dull at this point, not that he really cared. At the invitation, Regulus blinked. “Exploring places we’re allowed, or no? That much would be important to make my decision.” After all, the other already showed his interest in exploring the forest.
Caradoc laughed. “It doesn’t have to be forbidden stuff. There is plenty to explore that is perfectly allowed.” The Ravenclaw thought for a minute to find something he had not yet explored that wasn’t against the rules. “We could go to the Lake if you are up to exploring. Of course there are other ways of learning things, such as the library or clubs.”
“Oh! Reckon so, yeah. I don’t exactly mind, but you’ve delayed my loafing - tempted me to loitering.”
″Why how dare I! That is terrible of me.”
“Well, you do seem to have found yourself in quite the pickle there, haven’t you? I don’t suppose you’d be up for a stroll to the Black Lake, then? The weather’s supposed to get colder soon so I was thinking about taking advantage…”
“Ya sure why not. I’ve always liked the lake. Though I have yet to explore it.”
