this is both true, but also a charge that needs to be led by leftist men. (and i see some great men leading the charge here already — this isnt a blame game its a call for more of this!). this is dangerous for a lot of us to do alone. when i hear these phrases i often see the unspoken assumption of — men need love, thus women (or queer people, or trans people) need to provide them that love, since they have led a lot of leftist movements. please dont ask hurt people to always take the first step. what we have seen in the right is that men can form community for each other very well without our emotional labor being the cornerstone. it can happen on the left, too.

if you are a male ally, become more than an ally, and start leading with love. be that dude that greets bros with bros and your numbers will grow. if you have that male privilege, be the one to be the filter to see who is safe and who is a nazi. be the one who is unpacking their unconscious biases so we arent hit with the full brunt of microaggresions and can also approach them with love in return.

Living as a resident in these states means you are protected by state's rights and state government to continue or begin receiving trans healthcare. These laws have been codified in their states so everything has been a-ok'd by their state governments.

For those people who need to hear it, there is nothing wrong with going back into the closet for your own safety. You aren't less queer because you can't be queer publicly. You aren't less trans because you have to act like you're not trans.

If you need to start going by your old pronouns or quietly go back into the closet to be safe - you are allowed to do that. Please do that if it means you're alive.

If only there was a free and trusted vpn ( up to 10 gigs of downloadable data) to use in conjunction with an anonymizing router (also free up to 10 gigs) to safely, er, permanently borrow media in an untraceable way as well as share files.
