/cue lancer/ Shadow: ralsei stand near kris please? I smell overconfidence and smoke coming

“Hey, CLOWNS!” Lancer shouts, flying past them on a bicycle that somehow has fire shooting out of it. “So, you plan to seal the fountain, huh? Well too bad for you, because I’m going to stop you! By thrashing you all in a duel! Now-”

“Look, we don’t have time for this, whoever you are!” Susie grumbles, irritated by yet another individual showing up to delay their return to school.

“Whoever I am? Why, heroes… I’m the bad guy.” Lancer grins.

“Whatever,” Susie mutters. “I’m out of here.”

“But-” Ralsei begins, only to be interrupted.

“Look, if you and Kris wanna listen to him monologue, go ahead. I don’t have time for this.” With that, Susie walks away.

Lancer frowns, clearly this was not going how he expected. However, he recovers quickly. “Haha, some heroes you are, already running away! Well, that’s fine. Next time we meet, you won’t be so lucky!” Lancer rides away on his bicycle, leaving a stunned Kris and Ralsei behind.

“Well… I guess we’d better go catch up with Susie,” Ralsei says eventually, and the two begin walking in the direction she had left in.

Melody: im melody shadows sister and *hugs ralsei* your sooo cute!!!!

Ralsei smiles and hugs Melody back. “It’s very nice to meet you!”

Ralsei blushes slightly at the compliment. “Th-thank you very much!”

Shadow: *sigh*

“What? I said I would help.” Susie points out, rolling her eyes.

“What am I supposed to do with this?” Susie asks, glancing at the teddy bear in confusion and a bit of disbelief. She thought it was obvious she had no need for stuffed toys.

“Aww, it’s so cute!” Ralsei spoke up, looking at the teddy bear adoringly.

“You can have it then,” Susie mutters, pushing the teddy bear into the small prince’s arms.

“Thank you, Susie!” Ralsei gives an adorable smile, which Susie hurriedly looks away from to avoid risking ruining her reputation by smiling back.

“Yeah, whatever.” Susie says, resolutely not looking at the fluff’s face. “Thank the asker, they’re the one who made it appear.”

“Thank you,” Ralsei repeats.

ralsei tell them the story QUICK

“Oh, of course! Thank you for reminding me! Lightners, please listen to the tale of the Dark World…” Ralsei begins cheerfully.

Susie sighs, but since she does not want to upset him further, she decides to humor the small fluff and allow him to speak. Meanwhile, Kris listens to Ralsei speak with a curious expression, clearly interested in the tale.

“There is a legend that one day, two heroes of Light will arrive, and fulfill the ancient prophesy told by time and space. Our tale begins long ago…” Ralsei begins. Susie huffs impatiently, but is otherwise silent. Kris simply smiles encouragingly. “Once upon a time, a legend was whispered among shadows. It was a legend of hopes and dreams. It was a legend of Light and Dark. This is the Legend of Delta Rune. For millenia, Light and Dark have lived in balance, bringing peace to the world. But if this harmony were to shatter… A terrible calamity would occur. The sky will run black with terror and the land will crack with fear. Then, her heart pounding… The earth will draw her final breath. Only then, shining with hope, three heroes appear at world’s edge. A human, a monster, and a prince from the dark. Only they can seal the fountains and banish the angel’s heaven. Only then will balance be restored, and the world saved from destruction. Today, the fountain of darkness- the geyser that gives this land form- stands tall at the center of the kingdom. But recently, another fountain has appeared on the horizon, and with it the balance of Light and Dark begins to shift.”

Susie sighs again, a bit annoyed by the length of the tale. “Alright, can we go now?”

“W-well, yes, but Susie, you’re one of the heroes… So, aren’t you going to help us..?” Ralsei asks, looking a bit worried.

“Yeah, yeah, whatever. As long as it’s on the way.” Susie grumbles.

Shadow: *chuckles* i wouldnt push you into a fight your not ready for.

“I am not sure how to feel about that statement…” Susie mutters. She can’t tell if that was intended in a friendly way or as an insult, but for now she decides to just ignore it.

“You can’t tell me what to do!” Susie scowls. “I’ll decide who I want to be friends with, thank you very much. Which is no one.”

Ralsei looks at Susie, concerned. “But everyone needs friends!”

“Sorry, fluffy boy. I don’t ‘need’ your friendship or anyone else’s. I’m just trying to get back to school before I get expelled. Got it?” Susie replies. She feels slightly bad when she sees the hurt look on Ralsei’s face, but refuses to let it show. She has a reputation to maintain, after all, and anyway, Ralsei can be friends with Kris. “Let’s just get this over with.”

Kris hugs Ralsei comfortingly, but they know better than to try to get Susie to apologize. She would probably just send them to the Shadow Realm if they did.

Ralsei whats your favorite card of the ones you DONT have?

“Shining Friendship,” Ralsei replies with a smile.

“A monster card with no effect?” Susie comments, looking only mildly surprised by this.

“W-well, I mostly like it because I’ve never really… Had any friends…” Ralsei explains, looking slightly embarrassed by this. “I’ve waited here all alone for you two to arrive…”

Kris can’t help but feel kind of bad for Ralsei. Sure, they don’t really have any friends either, but that was mostly their choice. Ralsei didn’t seem to have even had a choice. They smile at him, trying to show that they will be his friend, if he wants.

“Kris, do you want to be friends with me?” The fluffy prince asks, sounding hopeful. Kris nods, still smiling.

Susie rolls her eyes, but it’s clearly mostly for show. The faintest, barely noticeable hint of a smile appears on her face, lasting less than a second before it is gone once again. “Are you two planning to make friendship bracelets too, or can we get back to the matter at hand? You know, getting back to school?”

Shadow: i dont know this guy well since he moved in after i was assigned to protech melody. *goes into her more human form* lets hope i dont take too much damage and have to revert to my true form.

“Are you serious?!” Susie demands, turning to Shadow with a shocked and- though she would never admit it- slightly terrified expression. “Did you really just take us to meet someone you know almost nothing about? I thought you were leading us to someone who would help us, not attack us!”

“Why didn’t you warn us?” Susie continues ranting. “Now we don’t have any time to prepare for a fight-” Susie turns to see the individual. It is a short, fluffy being, who smiles cheerfully.

“Lightners! It is so wonderful to finally meet you! I have lived here, waiting for the day you would arrive, my entire life!” The being speaks happily. “I am the Prince of Darkness, but you can call me Ralsei!”

“…Oh. Um, hey, Ralsei. Good thing we didn’t panic, haha…” Susie mutters the last part mostly to herself.

Kris snickers slightly, clearly having heard.

“Oh, can it, Kris!” Susie scowls, clearly embarrassed.

Shadow: but you do want to find a helper. I usally just teleport out of here *shows them to ralseis castle* he should be able to help

Susie shrugs. “I guess a helper would be nice,” she agrees, following Shadow with slight hesitation. Kris follows with much less hesitation, hoping the helper Shadow spoke of will be someone nice. While Susie is being surprisingly civil right now, they would prefer to have someone else around as well.

“Why are we in front of a castle?” Susie asks uncertainly, glancing up at the structure. This is not at all what she was expecting.

Kris knocks on the door of the castle curiously, earning a glare from Susie.

“What are you doing?” she hisses at them, and they shrug in response. Before Susie can say anything else, the door opens with a creaking sound.

*Insert SUSIE ITS NOT THE SHADOW REALM here*

“Well, that’s a relief.” Susie comments, though she does not appear entirely convinced. Either way, she’s eager to return to a sense of normalcy.

Kris wanders back over. They are relieved to hear this is not, in fact, the Shadow Realm. They are somewhat less surprised, however, since this place seems a lot less frightening than they would have expected the Shadow Realm to be.

Shadow; up intill a few years ago i lived here. Its nice when you get used to the darkness

“If you say so,” Susie replies, sounding somewhat unconvinced. Though she has to admit that it doesn’t seem too bad so far. It seems peaceful, actually. No one else seems to be around. Nevertheless, hearing this place referred to as the Shadow Realm has spooked her and she wants to return to the school as quickly as possible. “You know a lot about this place, right? How did we get here, and how do we go back?” she asks.

Kris, meanwhile, has begun to search the nearby area. They find a strange candy in a tree, but nothing else worth noting. They are careful not to wander too far, so they can listen to the response.

and so the story of our heros begin YEY wonder what will happen

“Heroes?” Susie scoffs. “There must have been some mistake. We aren’t heroes.” Her expression turns slightly bitter. “There’s nothing even remotely ‘heroic’ about me.”

Kris glances at Susie with a surprised expression. This reaction was unexpected to them. Truth be told, they do not feel much like a hero either. They’re just an average student, really. Why would anyone call them a hero?

Shadow; *lives in the dark world* *waits for them to fall down* welcome to the dark world. Aka the shadow realm. Where i was born

“Wait, did you just say this is the Shadow Realm?” Susie demands, looking confused and uncertain. She glances around a bit nervously, half expecting something to happen at any second. When nothing happens, she relaxes ever so slightly.

Kris frowns, glancing around as well. This is not at all what they expected the Shadow Realm to be like. It does not appear threatening at all, just very, very dark. Perhaps this ‘Dark World’ that was mentioned was a more accurate name for the place.

“So you… Live here? What’s it like?” Susie asks, still rather on edge. She hopes to gather as much information as possible, so she and Kris can get back to the school, and away from… Wherever this was.

[I apologize for the confusion, Susie has a tail right now because she’s a dragon for 40 asks, it is kind of like a magic anon event. After the event ends, and prior to it, she does not have a tail. I think I only drew the tail for one of the pictures though oops…]

sorry i know i shouldnt really be asking this but my memory is a bit faded anyways susie what is the shadow realm

“The Shadow Realm is an alternate dimension, believed to be a place of suffering. It is also said to be the location where Shadow Games are held, though I have no idea whether or not that is true.” Susie explains, standing up and looking around. “Where are we…?” she mutters, scanning the surrounding area. Everything seems dark.

Kris looks around as well, quickly noticing that Susie’s hair color and outfit have changed drastically. She still has the dragon wings and tail, though. They look down at their own outfit and find they are now wearing a suit of armor with a red cloak instead of their usual sweater. They frown, wondering what happened.

“Kris? Why is your skin blue?” Susie asks, looking bewildered. “And your hair, too…” Susie looks around again. “What’s going on here? Is this some kind of prank?”

Muni: *looks over* susie you may be in a portal door. Say hello to the dark world for me!

Susie blinks in confusion at this comment. “Portal door? Dark world? What are you talking about?” She continues to search the dark room for an exit, but there is nothing but endless darkness aside from the still locked door.

And… Some cards on the floor. “What are cards doing in the supply closet?” Susie mutters, glancing down at them. They must have been confiscated by a teacher and tossed in here or something… What other explanation is there for this odd occurrence? Kris glances at them as well, noting that they seem to be rather rare. In fact, isn’t that a piece of-

“Yo, Kris, I’m getting Exodia!” Susie says triumphantly, reaching down to pick up 5 cards. As soon as her fingers brush against one of the cards, the ground underneath her and Kris starts shaking. Suddenly, they are falling down, down into darkness…

Susie smirks. “I’m actually kinda okay with this,” she mutters. “Not sure how it’s possible, though…”

Kris sighs. This is not going to help them escape the supply closet… But at least Susie isn’t threatening to send them to the Shadow Realm, so they suppose they shouldn’t complain.
