Unhealthy obsession with vessels

Hollow Knight AU Masterpost

My main AU, which I've been calling Silver War AU (might change it) started off as one of those happy ending AUs where Ghost brings all the vessels in the Abyss back to life with the Void Heart.

Then I added in more angst.

In my AU, the vessels in the Abyss had no idea that there was an escape. There was a light that would appear periodically and call to them (The Pale King) but all vessels that tried to follow it would fall to their deaths. The vessels that survived were the ones that decided the light was trying to kill them, and avoided it. Many vessels grew strong enough that they could have made it to the top, but they chose to live in the part of the Abyss with the lighthouse and void sea instead.

Vessels can communicate with Voidspeak, a telepathy that can be heard by other vessels, but is very difficult for anyone else to hear. Vessels struggle to lie, as they need to project the lie, but hide any thoughts acknowledging that it's a lie. (They most often communicate with words, but they can also project images, emotions, and other nonverbal sensations.)

With nothing to do in the Abyss, and no real authority figures other than the oldest vessels, they start devolving into a Lord of the Flies situation, splitting into large groups that fight to take control of the Abyss. New young vessels hatch every day, so they're considered expendable in battle...

After a few years the lighthouse shut off. Void tendrils reached out of the sea far enough to kill almost all vessels in the Abyss.

A small group of six vessels survive for another few years, before, eventually, the vessel chosen to be The Hollow Knight climbs to the top.

Broken Vessel/Brother

Aquamarine

Greenpath Vessel/Gardener is a minor character

Loyal member of Undying's squad. At first the loyalty came from admiration, but in recent years it's been fueled more by fear.

I kinda like the idea of Aqua just being insufferable.

Pipe cleaner friends

I've been doing this for a little while. Debating selling some of these, but I have no idea how to go about pricing them since pipe cleaners actually cost money and certain figurines would require specific colors that might only come in packs and I'd have to buy a pack just to get that color...

But I don't want to overcharge, I dunno if these are worth more than 10 dollars each.

I'm alive

Over Christmas vacation my laptop died, and now I have discovered that running both firefox and linux on my new laptop makes some things impossible, such as editing google docs and logging into Tumblr. So unfortunately at the moment I have been reduced to using the mobile app and chromium.

hopefully will be posting stuff soon, the reason why I was innactive before is because I got a Toyhouse and was obsessively uploading tons of pics there.

Unus Annus

Okay context is needed

Sometime late 2021 I started trying to imagine my characters for audio of youtube videos I watched, hoping to get some ideas for little animations I could do. I watched an Unus Annus clip compilation, and realized that Mark and Ethan fit Silver (Hollow Knight) and Ghost in my AU really well. I've wanted to make a pic like this for a long time, but I just made this pic in like an hour cause of the livestream happening.

Curls was afraid that Periwinkle would freeze in a fight, questioning the morality of taking her first life. There would be no conundrum if she'd already killed before. So he brought her a vessel, and made sure he couldn't run.

Though I could have drawn his final lesson to her, I realized I haven't posted any art anywhere of Spinner's death.

From this prompt I got the concept that Silver once punished Undying by making him help with food preparation, but not telling him that onions make you cry.

I don't actually know whether I should make vessels be affected by onions though

Mah ornate boi. Since he was very young he tied strands of dried out void in his horns. He likes overdecorate himself. Normally he has a lot more colors than this since he has no concept for "too tacky," but I kept it simple for my own sanity.

His name is Mandrake, or Rake for short. He's an important character in Aquamarine's backstory. He's dumb and mean but I love him.

I don't have this scene from my AU fully figured out yet. It's a few years after the events of the game, at a time that Ghost and Broken vessel/Brother get into a fight. Afterwards, thinking back, he realizes that he took things way too far.

More Dumpsterfire AU EKEKEEKEK

So I originally had this marked as mature for mentioning drinking, but stuff marked as mature gets hidden way more than I thought. Trigger warnings are remaining in tags for those who are sensitive.

I believe that the official definition of an alcoholic isn't someone who drinks constantly, but someone who struggles to stop drinking once they start. So even though Pabi has only drank once in her life, she's an alcoholic.

When drunk, she reverted to a lot of her infected behavior. She began begging Lumi to let her go back to Hallownest to worship The Radiance again, insisting she needed to beg her Goddess for forgiveness.

She's not allowed to drink anymore.

Fun fact, I shaded Lumi's antennae with a highlighter

Wait a minute this is my first time posting something from my Dumpsterfire AU to tumblr

To clarify, it's an AU where I don't hold back with disturbing topics and torturing my OCs. That way I can have some chill in my "canon" AUs.

On the left is Aquamarine. In this AU, The Radiance has tried her best to break them, since they're resistant to her direct control. All of her efforts only make Aqua more angry and feral.

On the right is a moth OC that I still need to name... She volunteered to help "tame" Aqua. She had no intention of doing so, she believed that Aqua was beyond hope. If they could never be tamed, why try? Why put them through horrible "training?" They're basically an animal, they don't know any better... So long as she's "taming" them, nobody else is. Thus, they can stay in a place where nobody is trying to hurt them.

That didn't mean she was safe from Aqua.

The moth is a sheep moth! originally I designed her as a rosy maple moth, but when I discovered the goth cousin to the rosy maple moth, I just had to change her design.

I don't think this counts as an OC

So, swap AUs. I've got one. Blackwyrm is swapped with Pale King, and Vespa is swapped with Herrah. Thus, Hornet would be the child of Vespa and Blackwyrm.

Her name is Spider. She's a bee, or, hornet, named Spider.

Her role is swapped with Quirrel, she left Hallownest with Vespa's mask.

Might redesign, who knows. I don't know what weapon to give her.
