Ta-ku - Drive Slow, Homie Pt. III The struggle to find the perfect song to drive to is over because Ta-ku has got you covered. Up-beat headnodders, soulful jams, and rounded off with some high bpm club tunes. The Australians latest mix in his Drive Slow, Homie series has all the essentials. ZHU
There has always been an aura of mystery within the music and entertainment industry. The musician may create a stage name, hide behind a mask, or may not even be associated with the music they are putting forth into the world. We can see examples of this from legendary rock band "KISS", the suave robotic style of Daft Punk, and many others. Sometimes the costumes and masks add to the whole spectacle of the show. In the case of "ZHU" it is the absence of these things that has created this mystery. In one month "ZHU" has released three amazing deep house tracks, yet no one knows anything about this producer so far. The unique and catchy Outkast cover was released anonymously, and only recently did I find out that it was posted on a soundcloud with the name of "ZHU". Is this a new up and comer to the music scene? Another producer trying at an anonymous project? Or is it a group of musicians, maybe an ensemble like Rudimental. Only time will tell, and regardless of the lack of information, These three tracks are all amazing and worth a listen. Remember to step out of the Dull Daze sometimes, throw on some of these tracks, and vibe out for a bit. Be on the look out for more "ZHU".
Fickle Friends - SWIM Brighton must be in august right now because there are certainly some warm, summer night vibes in Fickle Friends' single SWIM. Nothing sells me faster on a song then a killer guitar hook, luckily for you it still gets better from there on in. Perfectly balanced percussion and sentimental lyrics about getting through the tough times in life. Simply a seamless, feel-good song.

Although it is sad to hear a Touch Sensitive track without a grooving bass riff, our favourite 80's synth vibes are ever present. 30 Days of Music (8/30) I am so happy. I went for a skim today, I got a lot of school work done, It has just been a pretty productive day. So to top it off I am going to go out and celebrate. I am just having some dinner and a beer right now and this song has been keeping me entertained so I thought I would share. Happy Friday everyone.
The Knocks - The One (feat. Sneaky Sound System) Coming off their new EP, Comfortable, The Knocks deliver yet again a great dance tune. Synth stabs that don't quit, smooth drum fills, and some anthem style lyrics. If you enjoy upbeat dance tunes, you surely have to check this NYC duo out here.
30 Days of Music (7/30) Alrighty everyone, I have some new music for you today. These are 2 fresh new tracks with some awesome grooves. The first belonging to new house master, Kaytranada. This lovely track is really what you would expect from this awesome artist. The second is a single from beatmaker Pomo, and when I say this track speaks for itself, I mean it. Enjoy.
Justin Timberlake- My Love (Shash'U remix)
Montreal's own Shash'U kills it again with his rendition of Justin Timberlake's My Love. Leave it to this DJ, singer, composer and songwriter to always come up with pure liquid gold. If you haven't heard any of his other work, definitely check it out. Right now.
30 Days of Music (6/30) Sometimes its good to just go back to classics. There is a reason they are classics, they have outlived the trials that hundreds of other songs of their time could not. In accordance with the dreary Vancouver weather, enjoy some Ella Fitzgerald as you make your hot tea and mope at the rain. Looking forward to bringing new songs tomorrow, but for now I think I am gonna go listen to this a couple times.

Papoose ft. Prodigy - Prisoner
I came across this new track from Papoose and prodigy tonight, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Most of my friends know my itunes is filled with 90's rap... grimy beats, hard hats, that rawness with a mixture of lyricism and soul. Now most people say Papoose and prodigy both fell off, and I must admit, they've both been out of the spotlight and also my radar- but they both still have bars, and this beat matches their style perfectly to make a stellar track that all hip-hop heads can appreciate. Here's a late tuesday night track to vibe with.
30 Days of Music (5/30) Today we are going opposite ends of the temp spectrum. I love angry music, and I love chill music so I bring to you the best of both worlds. Two brand new tracks by the likes of Figure, and Pretty Lights. 2 very different songs, but both pretty damn good with an open mind. Also a bonus remix!
30 Days of Music (4/30) Welcome to the 4th day of this lovely music adventure you have decided to take with me. Its Monday, I get that its a slow day so why not match it with some music to slow things down and chill things out. I have 3 for you today, 2 beats and one swagged out old school rap song that I haven't been able to get out of my head the last 2 days. Enjoy.
30 Days of Music (3/30) Welcome back to 30 Days of music. My apologies on the late response for the 3rd day as I have developed a bit of a nasty head cold over this weekend so Pablo kindly covered for me , but enough about me lets get to the music.
First up is a hip hop banger. I know I am not really the go to guy when it comes to new hip hop, and as much as I like a good rap track I am not really up to date with the best new people to keep an eye on. I do however have a couple go to artists that tend to deliver. Although this track isn't very new ProbCause is a great Chicago artist that comes through consistently.
Next up is • dot •, a beatmaker that I had been relatively unaware of until recently teasing his new album soon to be released on Unspeakable Records in early April. This new tease is definitely a switch in directions from some of his previous stuff. Sampling galore but what I really enjoy is the side chained synths. Have a listen for yourself, anyone who likes instrumental tracks is bound to love this.
