From the moment she was born she got exactly what she wanted, her parents spoiling her rotten. They never had any other children which meant she got reign of the house. With her mother being the CEO of a real estate conglomerate they always had money, connections, and for Angelica it meant the sky was the limit. Everyone in her path would also suffer the wrath that was toddler Angelica Pickles. Her favorite subjects to torture where her cousins and their friends. They all had just made it so easy to where she couldn’t help herself. Of course that started to get old fast when she grew up which in turn meant she started to mellow out a little bit. In fact, she actually developed a pretty good friendship with one of them, Susie Carmichael. Even though she wouldn’t admit it, she could be credited with really getting Angelica to be palatable. Not that everyone saw it but there was more to her than a quick comeback and blonde highlights. That didn’t mean Angelica didn’t know she was attractive, as her mother frequently reminded her.
She grew up in the shadow of a mother who wanted a successful daughter. It was told to Angelica at a young age that she should work to her gifts which she’d always been told was her appearance. Not to mention the fact that she’d been drawn to all things fashion for as long as she could remember. That felt like the only thing she ever had going for her. Angelica wasn’t super smart or good at really, anything. No one would know but beneath her confident demeanor is insecurity. All she ever wanted was to make her mom proud of her and if her only asset was her appearance then she’d do whatever she could to sell it. Her mother got her in contact with the right people and she was modeling before she graduated high school. Once she was supposed to go to college she studied fashion merchandising which most of the time she didn’t even attend class because she was on shoots. Her mother pushed her to drop out and take on her career full time while she could, though a part of her regrets doing so.
College was also where she met Samuel Tramp, who was a fling gone wrong. She fell for him harder than she’d expected. For the first time in Angelica’s life she thought there might actually be someone out there who made her want to settle down. Most of the time men were boring and offering nothing of excitement but every moment with him kept her on her toes. His family was nice too, in a way hers never was. All she’d known was business, business, business, always be closing, while they would sit down for actual meals together. There was something comforting about them that she couldn’t explain. Most people thought they were together because of the arm candy but there was more, at least for her. After it ended and he disappeared without a trace was when Angelica officially left school, wanting to focus all her emotions somewhere useful. Her way of coping was to throw herself entirely into her work exactly like her mother wanted. Angelica’s been doing just that since: working and making a name for herself but a part of her never let go of all that could be.
She’s thought about going back to school a few times, especially now that the boarders are closed she thinks it might be the perfect time.
As much as she hates what Scamp did she still thinks about him from time to time. He was the closest she’s ever known to love and it hasn’t been something she’d been able to forget as easily as she pretends it is.
It’s no secret that being a model is way more challenging than people think. To Angelica a lot of the force comes from her mother who is also her manager since retiring and running for city council. She has driven her daughter to sometimes not eat or sleep for work. There’s a growing resentment for her mother that she can’t fight.
Even though her mother is the bane of her existence she also wants nothing more than to make her proud. Her father was the easy one, always being more of a submissive to her mother’s reigning force. He’d been proud of her since she did her very first pageant as a child.
She lived life based on a photograph of what the perfect family was though behind the scenes it was a disaster. Angelica is pretty sure her mother had an affair but has nothing to back it up besides a hunch. They pretended to be what everyone wanted for her mother’s career which has only continued into her own.
Her dream is to one day work for one of the big fashion companies as a buyer. She’s hoping if she goes back to school she can use the connections she’s making now to get there.
Out of the kids she grew up with the least annoying is Lil or so she’s decided. The girl is everything but and still there’s something there. Angelica has started to actually hang out with her without the group now though she wouldn’t admit it.
Chuckie Finster is her favorite victim. Most people are able to at least see the tolerable side of Angelica these days but he’s never been quite so lucky. Ever since they were kids he’d just been a little more fun to mess with.
Her bad temperament comes from stress most of the time now. That’s why she’s slowly developing a bit of reliance on alcohol, it being one of the only ways she can unwind and keep working under such intense constraints.
She’s hooked up with a few girls at parties but never dove too deep into her sexuality. Angelica can only imagine what her mother would say and tries to keep that to herself.
As much as her life is filled with sex, drugs, and alcohol being in the industry, a part of her wants a quaint life somewhere with a white picket fence. She also knows that chances of that are slim to none and tries to not get carried away by the idea.
