Quick intro: Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m.. me! You can probably definitely find the name I go by on here if you look but I’m too anxious to put it in a pinned post for some reason lol. I go by Mojave on other platforms connected to this blog though, after this blog's original gaming inspiration: Fallout New Vegas. I don’t want to drag this on for long since I can talk more in-depth about what this blog is about under the cut so yeah here we go. I am being a bit of a hypocrite not tw tagging this but I just want to make sure people see this to know what I’m about. Under the cut I mention vague, only referred to as “dark and heavy” topics and my stance on them, specifically the word mental illness and nothing more, and also people I don’t want interacting with my blog TW: racists, lgbt+phobes, pedos, nazis, beastility and other weirdos. If anyone thinks this needs to be actually tagged tell me. 

Rules: 

1. My ask box is always open to take requests but I will not promise a certain timespan that they will get done/if they will get done at all. I genuinely dislike having requests sitting in my inbox for months so if it’s a request I’m comfortable with but just have no motivation or ideas for, you’ll at least get a joke post out of it. Sorry. If it’s something I’m not comfortable with, I’ll figure out a way to tell you. 

2. That being said; if you want your story a certain length, tell me. Otherwise, I’ll just do what I want. 

3. I don’t personally have any extreme triggers but here’s my stance on writing *controversial* things. I don’t think fiction has to be all fluff and bunnies all the time but anything dark/taboo or heavy should be appropriately labelled. This goes for all fiction and not just fanfiction. I also in no way am saying I condone the romanticization of these topics, as you can portray them in the awful reality they are. So don’t come in here with those types of requests. Yes, I am aware seeing those topics in that light helps some actual victims cope, but it can be extremely damaging to others and I want this to be a safespace. Hence, the appropriate tagging. In the situation of someone making a case for this type of story, I’ll try to discuss it privately. I doubt that will ever happen, just trying to lay out a plan. I’m also on the stance fiction CAN affect reality. Another reason to make this passage long and clear. I am more comfortable with writing request involving mental illness as I am well-versed in the struggles of it. Sometimes you just want comfort from your favorite character, I get it. But like many things, it isn’t something that goes away overnight. No matter how much comfort and support you get, it will never just disappear like that. SO, my point of romanticization still stands. I would be immensely more comfortable if I got to write heavy topics on my own terms, regardless. But this is just a detailed explanation. 

4. Any heavy topic will be tagged with tw <topic>/tw <topic> mention and most likely <topic> on its own. It will also probably have warnings and will be under a cut. 

5. If you are racist, don’t support the lgbt+ community, a pedo/map/whatever your nasty-ass wants to call yourself, or a fucking nazi? Get the hell out. Just because I think dark stories can be shown through fiction does not mean I or any normal person coming to this blog wants you here. If you’re another weirdo I didn’t mention it extends to you as well. Oh also; beastiality. Yeah, if you haven’t noticed, irl animals don’t have the mental capacity to consent to anything. I also feel like I have to say; I’m fine with furries. Most of y’all are just cool people trying to vibe with talking animals. I’m not down to fight over it so don’t come at me in my messages. 

6. NSFW Content. I am a minor and for everyone’s comfort, I’m not doing specifically nsfw requests. Suggestiveness or implication is something different but don’t come in here asking for straight porn. I’ll decide the implications or suggestions of a story.

7. I am still in school so I may not post actual writing regularly. I also have a bad attention span unless I get into it. Warning I do frequently post non-writing content on here and spam. It will be tagged as non-writing.

MEGA-UPDATE!!

Hi everyone!! It's been awhile, but I'm so glad to see so many of you are still here!! Here's what's happened since I've been active (late 2022).

Two new jobs!! One I stayed at for most of 2023 until I got laid off. It was 30 minutes away, so it took a lot of my time!! But after I got laid off, I got hired as a librarian in my town!! I love it, it pays well, I've been there over a year. But I've taken on a lot, so it also keeps me pretty busy!!

2. I got into a lot more. Death Note, Jojo, House MD, etc. I want to write for all of them but right now my big interest is Supernatural. Some of you may have noticed, I participated in a writer bang. That fic is posted on AO3, and I'll try to post it soon on here. It was my first time writing since I left.

3. I started going to conventions. They're really fun and I love seeing another side of fandom.

I'll try to be more active on here going forward. It's already hard when I get out of routine, but the way I left this time wasn't on the best of terms. I never actually left Tumblr, I was just on a different account, so I'm up to date on everything.

I hope you'll stick along with me as I try to start again!

Got a new job at the local library

People tell you this a lot when you’re disabled or when you’re dating a disabled person: “your partner should not be your caregiver.”

It makes sense and is good advice. If you are dependent on any one person for all your emotional and physical needs, it creates the potential for abuse. And there are times when you or your partner might be exhausted or need to unwind emotionally and can’t take on any more tasks, even caregiving tasks for someone you love.

But at the same time, caregiving is inherently going to be a part of any crip4crip relationship. I’m writing this while curled up on the bathroom floor. My girlfriend was the one who brought me my emergency medication and my water because I was too sick to get up, even though our plan was to chill and watch a movie. She’ll probably help me to my feet in a few minutes, once the medication’s kicked in, and will walk me back to the couch. Earlier tonight, I made her dinner, while she lay on a heat pad. This morning, I helped her braid her hair.

It isn’t rotten work by any means, but it is work. And this is the work that our bodies need. Either you can do it yourself or you can’t. And if you can’t, your loved ones can step in sometimes. It isn’t unhealthy or wrong to help each other

I know I have been really spacey for about a year but this blog supports Palestine 100% and taking a "mental health break" does not mean fully ignoring everything that is going on. Taking a mental health break means keeping yourself in a condition to be a healthy, functional human. Be in a clear head to be an ally. People in Palestine do not have a choice.

people bitching about the usage of "too modern" words in fantasy or historical fiction is sometimes justified, but ultimately I think it's a waste of time because

all words exist within a specific time frame and it's pointless to avoid the fact that you're writing with the language of your own time

which words are actually "newer" than other words is sometimes wildly unintuitive

according to the dates given in the Oxford English Dictionary, if you wrote a book set in 1897, you could have your characters say "fuckable," (1889) "sexy" (1896) "uncomfy" (1868) "hellacious" (1847) "dude" (1877) "all righty" (1877) and "heck" (1887), but not "wiggly" (1932) "moronic" (1910) "uptight" (1934) "lowbrow" (1901) "fifty-fifty" (1913) "burp" (1932) "bagel" (1898) or use the word "rewrite" as a noun (1901)
