Road to Recovery Day 7

Exactly 1 week since my life got a little turned around. Doctor checked out my incision, gave me the go ahead to drive and a return date for work. I'm walking a little better but cramps are still around. Finally got to drive and get out of the house! Hung out with Mo and drank some beer, ate kebob shop and watched a movie. Perfect night, it was exactly what I needed. After everything Mo and I have been through this year, I'm glad to say he is one of my closest friends. He's been the one person that makes sure I'm okay every single day and is more than willing to lend a helping hand. Like no joke. I texted him once at 1AM saying I was hungry and couldn't sleep. He responded with "what are you in the mood for? Give me your address" and another time I told him how hard it was for me to breathe when I lay down and offered to come stay up with me until I fell asleep. Obviously that wasn't an option so he texted me until I fell asleep. I'm feeling so blessed tonight. And gassy. But mostly blessed.

Road to recovery Day 6

Sleeping has been the hardest thing to do since I've been home. And showering. Breathing. Laughing. Crying. Hahah fucking everything. But I woke up today with minimal pain and the most sleep I've gotten since before the surgery. Every day is a different challenge, I'm just glad I'm still here.

I'm so fucking uncomfortable and i can't fucking sleep. My body is sore from being in bed all day. I need drugs.

It's been one hell of a couple of years. I started 2014 with my best friend and the man I thought I was going to spend my life with. Then that ended and I was so fucking heart broken. But instead of dealing with it, I projected all that love I still had for him on a boy I met. I thought he was the one, but he just fed my ego. Then he cheated on me and gave me a huge reality check... I was still walking around with a broken heart. So I dated a lot this year. Started 2015 with what I thought was a date with a man that was still in repair that was just looking to hang out. After realizing he wasn't as serious as I was, I started to date more people. And some where along the line, I realized I wasn't ready for anything serious. I've been on a shit ton of first dates this year, some did lead to seconds and some lead to friendships. I'm not ready to open up with anyone and that's why nothing's lead to anything. It took me a while to figure that out though and a fuck load of frustration. The majority of my focus this year, since I was finally really truly single, was Olympic weight lifting and I kicked some major ass in it. My numbers sky rocketed, my technique improved drastically and I was finally going to compete with my gym sponsoring me and supporting me. And then I went to the hospital with complaints of constipation, finding out my insides were twisting and left with one less ovary. Fucking sucks. One week out from my competition. How twisted is that? No pun intended. Talk about a major set back. I won't be back to 100% for another 7-8 weeks. Who knows if I can even squat below parallel then... My cousin in law that's always silently supported me and only offers words of encouragement when absolutely necessary sent me a real simple message. "Set backs=come backs." So that's what the rest of this year and next will be about. Coming back better and stronger, physically and mentally. It's going to be fucking tough and I'm scared shitless. But what doesn't kill me makes me stronger. And I'm going to come back better than I ever was.
