“You’re right, I’m sorry, Rosalina, I’m just dealing with a lot of stuff right now.” She tells her, before a light frown appeared on her face.”So what is it that you want? Other than for me to relax? Which I can’t?”

Even though Alethea exuded some sort of strangeness and almost insisted on keeping a distance between them for now, she was gradually growing more comfortable whilst Duncan confided in her. She felt reliable, in a way, and took it as a compliment to be given some details, even if not major ones. “Spontaneous things turn out to be the most pleasant, things you think you’d never do, but end up doing them. Wouldn’t call that dark, but merely unforeseen - which isn’t a problem,” she mumbled, though audibly.

“Ah - me. I… I haven’t walked past the threshold of a… party, ever. Those loud, irritating get-togethers. My tolerance to crowds and loud music, people, rooms… it’s fleeting. I actually… kind of ruined one temporarily, a party that was close to where I was living. I only came in to claim that there was a corpse outside. Once everyone panicked, they went outside only to find that the corpse was not human, but it was that of a cat which was run over by a car. Sure they all looked terrified at first and disappointed after… but everything else stopped for a while and the silence was mesmerising,” gentle eyes followed Duncan’s figure as she walked between the counter and the table. A serene expression then spread across her countenance, lips thinned in a genuine smile. “You’re too kind,” she looked at the slice, and back to her companion. “I actually like gummy bears. I’m also in love with chocolate swiss roll.”

Duncan didn’t really know the woman she was talking too, but somehow she was able to open up to her about things that Duncan either was ashamed about or didn’t want anyone to really know. Though Alethea didn’t seem like the type to tattle on her. A soft frown appeared on Duncan’s face as she thought about the woman’s words. Something dark. Duncan didn’t have a lot of darkness in her, well she didn’t have dark stories inside of her.”What would you consider dark? I’m not sure if I have anything dark really.” She admits with a shrug of her shoulders.

She listens to the others words, a hand going out to take the woman’s and give it a gentle squeeze.”That could honestly happen to anyone. Though at least you were able to silence the place. At least it was just a cat though, right? Couldn’t imagine stumbling across a corpse. That would be terrifying.” She says, before she releases her hand, giving her a gentle smile.”It runs in the family. I think a lot of people here could be a little kinder to one another.” She says, before nodding her head at her words.”Gummy bears are definitely a keeper. I like your taste in candy. We should do a junk food night, if you’re up for it of course. And don’t mind hanging out with me.”

Mariah followed her to the breakfast lounge and sat down. “I would like some tea first and I would like the menu, please.”

She nods her head at her words, going to get the menu, and then going over to the table to pour her a cup of tea, coming back to hand it to her.”Just call when you’ve decided on what you want to eat.”

“You’d have gotten a welcome home party if you’d told me you were getting home today!” She grinned, always bouncing around at the sight of her friend. “And some of us have been working the past few months, Kenny– not taking some fancy ass classes.” Eli was laughing before sobering slightly as she shrugged at the question, “I’m sure you’ve heard about most of the shit that’s happened the past few weeks. It’s really fucked up, Duncan. I saw your parents last week after but…how’re they doing?” She assumed they knew the deceased coven members.

“Sorry it was a bit last minute. My parents called me up to let me know what had happened here.” She says with a light chuckle, before she’s laughing at her friends words.”I’d have you know, my fancy ass classes will get me enough knowledge of how to run my parents business one day.” She says, before the laughter and smiles left her own face at her next words, nodding her head at them.”Yeah parents filled me on it. Has my sister locked up in her room. They’re trying. I thought I’d come back and run the place so they could have their time, and be there for Cameron. How’re you doing?” Just because Eli might not know the people that died on a personal level didn’t mean that it didn’t still effect her in anyway.

I hate change typically, but even I know that places need to stay fresh in people’s minds. “ Heath smiled before feeling a little relieved he wasn’t overstepping his boundaries at work for showing up early. “ Yeah I don’t mind. Better early than late. Yeah I’d love that if you had the time and don’t mind me drinking before work”

“If the old buildings never did get upgraded they would be condemned. This place won’t be condemned, but even the young wouldn’t want to set foot in here.” She says smiling at him, before waving her hand at him.”I’m not that busy, I’m all caught up in my work, so let’s drink. Though nothing alcoholic, you’ll be on duty soon.” She tells him, giving him a soft smile as she walks into the breakfast lounge.

“Well congratulations. Perhaps a small house warming should be given to you. Here.” She says turning to walk over to the bar, grabbing their most fine wine, before walking back to the woman.”Here. Just to say congratulations on the new place, and thank you for choosing Strange Magic. We hope you enjoyed your stay here. Oh you’re most welcome. Our doors are open to everyone.”
