Back at it again with another NPC for the adventure time campaign. I want to introduce you to Princess Phoebe.
Much like her cartoon self, Phoebe wasn't exactly planned. Phoebe is still not her father's pride and joy, but she is a genasi born out of a human parent and an elemental one. A fire genasi, obviously. Her mom being the elemental parent. She has a noble background, but has been imprisoned her whole life due to her father fearing she is more powerful than him.
She is a free spirit even if she's trapped. She makes the most of what she has, she's friends with all the servants and thinks that freedom is the most important thing in life.
Phoebe's features are the following:
- she can see in dim light within 60 feet of herself as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. Her ties to the Elemental Plane of Fire make her darkvision unusual: everything she sees in darkness is in a shade of red
- imunity to fire damage (yes, yes, she was supposed to be resistent, but she's the f-ing Flame Princess, gimmie a break)
- she knows the produce flame cantrip, she can cast the burning hands spell once with this trait as a 1st-level spell, and regains the ability to cast it this way when after a long rest, constitution is the spellcasting ability for these spells
- the gem on her forehead protects her from the Lich's influence
Although I don't usually give NPCs PC classes, I feel compelled to give Phoebe a class. She is a wild magic sorcerer of level 10, although I'll use other classes spells as well or change them up a bit to make her spells fire based. Also, I'll make constitution her spellcasting ability.
Her cantrips are: firebolt, produce flame, control flames, create bonfire, dancing lights, true strike
Her lvl 1 spells are: burning hands, magic missile, absorb elements and shield (4 slots)
Her lvl 2 spells are: scorching ray, flame blade, flaming sphere ( 3 slots)
Her lvl 3 spells are: fireball, flame arrows (3 slots)
Her lvl 4 spell is: wall of fire (3 slots)
Her lvl 5 spells are: flame strike, immolation, dominate person (2 slots)
As a wild magic sorcerer she has the following features:
- Starting when you choose this origin at 1st level, your spellcasting can unleash surges of untamed magic. ( I'll use a d100 for this, for 10-20 the magic goes wild and I'll roll on the table, for 30-100, the spell goes as planned)
- Starting at 1st level, you can manipulate the forces of chance and chaos to gain advantage on one attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. Once you do so, you must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again
- Starting at 6th level, you have the ability to twist fate using your wild magic. When another creature you can see makes an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw, you can use your reaction and spend 2 sorcery points to roll 1d4 and apply the number rolled as a bonus or penalty (your choice) to the creature's roll. You can do so after the creature rolls but before any effects of the roll occur
Her metamagic options are careful spell, subtle spell and quickened spell.
Her stats are the following:
All she could do in her cell was exercise and read.
Having a more muscular physic grants you some agility.
Enduring persecution and punishments over the years makes you tough.
Books are a great way of passing time while imprisoned.
Interactions with only your servants are not good enough to grant you a bonus on insight.
She's not socially awkward, but she isn't the most charismatic either. Most people think she's too... intense.
Her walking speed is 30 ft.
Her saving throws are charisma and constitution.
She has the following proficiencies: daggers, quarterstaffs, slings, light crossbows, battleaxe, handaxe, light hammer, and warhammer, playing cards, smith's tools, arcana, history, nature and intimidation.
She speaks common, gnomish and primordial.
