Hi! I’m Dunia Loves and this is my first post on Tumblr. I had to start with something close to my heart, my Build a Better World Legacy Challenge for The Sims 4. 🌍✨
This legacy is about raising generations to build the kind of world we all dream of. A world where everyone thrives.
Over 10 generations, your Sims will create homes, communities, and connections that grow from self-sufficiency to global thriving. It’s the perfect challenge for anyone wanting to set up a forever world in The Sims 4, blending gameplay with imagining how we can build a better world together, in-game and in real life. 💚

🌿 Part 4: Thriving Alone — Build a Better World Legacy
Life on the farm is growing in more ways than one. The avocado trees are blooming, the bees are busy, and my Sim is finally starting to feel what it means to truly thrive.
Solar panels now power her tiny home, but she still loves the soft glow of candles and the sound of her guitar. There’s peace in her solitude… and a quiet question rising in her heart:
Who will inherit all of this someday?
She hasn’t met anyone yet — and honestly, she prefers the company of her animals. 🐓🐄🐝
But the world has a way of sending what we need when we least expect it.

Building My Tiny Home | Build a Better World Legacy Challenge
My Sim just built her very first home — a micro tiny house with a cobbled gate, a living roof, and space to grow. 🏡
She planted the first seed that will one day feed her freedom, and met some adorable neighbors along the way.
This is what the beginning of a better world looks like. ✨

Shes the founder of my play through of @dunialoves Build a Better World Legacy and i honestly love her more than i can put into words.
No real backstory for her bc the legacy itself is gorg and I really want to put all my mental energy into creating stories for the future generations.
But some things about herrr
her style is a mix of boho and kitsch; basically the more it looks like it was handmade/DIY the more she adores it
bi babygirll
wants a million tattoos and piercings for aesthetic, but only has one piercing bc she's constantly digging in the dirt/getting dirty through handiwork and spends all her time outside in the sun(she's very rational and thinks it's a waste to have to deal with constantly cleaning tons of piercings and/or worrying abt keeping her tattoos out of the sun)
has NO interest in children as a young adult, but her heart is so huge she knows deep down she'll be a mom someday
!! i also did my first ever Sims build for this legacy(i've been playing for ~12 years) and im kinda proud tbh! once i figure out how to take some decent lot pictures i may post those too c:
Packs & Base Game Suggestions for Build a Better World Legacy Challenge
I honestly didn't expect such a cool reaction to my legacy challenge, especially on Reddit. 💚 I’ve been getting a lot of questions about which packs are needed and how to play with just the base game, so I put together this post to help.
📦 Do I need specific packs to play this challenge?
Nope! The challenge was designed to be flexible and story-first, so you can adapt any goal based on the packs you own. If you’re missing a required trait, aspiration, or career, just swap in a similar one that fits the theme.
✅ Packs That Are Most Helpful (Optional but Great)
These packs align beautifully with the challenge themes:
Cottage Living – Farming, animals, Simple Living lot trait
Parenthood – Character values and heir development
Discover University – Education career, dorm design
Island Living – Conservationist career, Sulani world
Dine Out – Restaurant goals for farm-to-table generation
Get Together – Clubs for community-building
City Living – Protests, political career
Outdoor Retreat – Herbalism, camping
Jungle Adventure / Snowy Escape – World travel & cultural knowledge
For Rent – Residential rental system for building multi-family housing and managing tenants
🧩 Suggestions for Base Game Players
You can absolutely play this with just the base game! Here’s how to adapt some core ideas:
No Eco Lifestyle? Use Handiness + Gardening instead of Fabrication. Replace Civil Designer with Freelance Maker or Manual Labor.
No Dine Out? Host dinner parties instead of running a restaurant.
No Parenthood? Focus on mentoring skills, school performance, and aspiration milestones for kids.
No Cottage Living? Use gardening + cooking for food sovereignty.
No Clubs from Get Together? Host regular social events instead.
No University? Build a learning center/community lot in place of school goals.
No Island Living? Use Oasis Springs or another neighborhood to simulate nature healing goals.
No For Rent? – Use large homes with roommates or households instead of multi-unit rentals. Use family funds to simulate rent-free or shared housing
🔁 General Tip: The challenge is all about imagining a better world — your version is just as valid, even with limited packs. Use what you have and dream big.
I stood at the edge of this land with nothing but a dream and the dirt beneath my feet. No house yet. No path forward. Just open sky and the promise of something better.
I used my college savings to buy this place — not because I gave up on my future, but because I wanted to build a different kind of one. One where I live off the land, grow what I need, and learn how to truly thrive.
I don’t need much. A tiny home. A little sunlight. A lot of love for the earth.
I’m a loner, sure — but I love making things. I love green and gold. I love the idea that something small can grow into something powerful.
This is the start of my forever world.
This is Generation 1 of the Build a Better World Legacy Challenge.
