*fresh looks around to see what Dust is looking for, and after seeing nothing of any interest, looks at dust in confusion before continuing at a loud, party-suited volume*

*Dust narrows his sockets at Fresh's loud tone. he huffs and leans back at his full height, crossing his arms.

"just gotta find you a suitable host? 's easy enough. i know plenty of classic-adjacent 'verses"

*Dust steps back and pulls a small item out of his pocket, keeping it hidden in his hand.

"i'll get'cha yer host. you better pay up once you got your body, parasite"

*Dust fidgets with the item for a moment before a portal opens behind him.

"so yer fell's bro, yeah? he speaks pretty highly of you and your uh. lasagna. 's it any good like he says? can't say i have a reference though. never had lasagna before"

Edge was quick to notice the dust on Dusts jacket, cringing slightly at the sight and frowning, but not commenting it. How was his brother friends with someone who just walked around wearing the remains of other monsters? There was a lot of dust, too. Just how many people did this Sans have to witness die? Was his universe even more dangerous that Edges own? And he's never had lasagna...

"YOU'VE NEVER HAD LASAGNA BEFORE? I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS! HOW HAVE YOU LIVED THIS LONG?"

He was almost offended to learn another a version of his brother had never had lasagna before. What did his version of Papyrus feed him? Rocks? He would have to change this immediately! He points to Dust, preparing the invitation.

"YOU! WEIRD SANS! YOU ARE TO REPORT BACK TO ME IN THREE DAYS AND I WILL GIVE YOU A LARGE DISH OF LASAGNA! IF YOU DO NOT SHOW, I WILL FIND YOU AND FORCE YOU TO ACCEPT IT ANYWAY!"

"ah.. three days. got it, uh, papyrus..? er. is there something else i can call you? you're like.. the fourth papyrus i know. fell calls you boss but.. i dunno"

*Dust shifts from foot to foot, seeming unsure as he stands before Edge. he seems vaguely uncomfortable, refusing to make eye contact with Edge, mostly staring at the floor.

"hm.. don't think i should.. call you that?"

*Dust eyelights focus off to the side, mumbling under his breath. he seems to be having a conversation with.. nothing?

Edge seems briefly annoyed when Dust says the word boss, but he was taken aback, in a good way, that Dust even bothered to ask. Fell never respected that Edge did not want to be called 'boss'. He was not Fells boss and he did not want to be Fells boss. He imagined Fell would not be a good employee. Edge also picked up on Dusts awkward discomfort. This was definitely a version of his brother, and a weaker one at that. Edge was not much good with feelings or comforting people, but he felt some deep part of him telling him he needed to ease Dusts nerves.

Edge gave Dust an awkward smile and a pat on the shoulder in an attempt to comfort him and said, "THANK YOU FOR ASKING! THE OTHER MES CALL ME EDGE AND I QUITE LIKE THAT NICKNAME, IT HAS A NICE RING TO IT! MY BROTHER KNOWS I HATE BEING CALLED BOSS, AND HE DOES IT ANYWAY! IT'S GOOD TO SEE AT LEAST ONE OF HIS FRIENDS HAS THE DECENCY TO ASK THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE PAPYRUS BEFORE CALLING ME THAT SHIT!"

*Dust flinches at the contact and quickly straightens his slouched posture as his eyelights snap to Edge. he lets out a sharp breath and relaxes just a bit, reminding himself that it's just Edge here with him. he glances off to the side again, slightly shaking his head.

"heh. friend, right… nah, paps, you're right.."

*Dust shrugs a bit, finally focusing on Edge and giving him an equally awkward grin.

"no need for thanks, 's no problem. edge 's a pretty good one. nicknames are important with all this multiverse bullshit"

*Dust points somewhere off behind Fell

Fell glares at Dust; of course he was making fun of Fell again. No matter how many times Fell assured the other Sanses he was not afraid of anime girls, Dust never believed him. And so what if he was afraid of anime girls? Even so, there was no way Fell was looking behind him.

"yeah, no... i ain' fallin' for that shit, dust," he grunted.

Fell had gotten used to pushing down his emotions. If he jumped in fright in response to every thing that scared him, and a lot of things scared him, he would not have survived this long. 30 years in Underfell and you can bet this skeleton knows how to mask his fear, even if he can feel it building in his stomach.
