shout out to everyone who tried to diminish megumi’s role in yuji’s life and their bond so much so that when I saw nobara say yuji had pulled away from everyone and isolated himself in addition to us learning he was now very lonely as well as the strongest just like gojo after losing geto I KNEW megumi had to be dead not only because of this foreshadowing:

but because of the fact that yuji successfully pulled away and isolated himself from everyone because if megumi was alive he never would have let that shit slide just like he stops yuji from isolating himself after shibuya

now while the manner in which we learn about megumi’s death and his death itself sucks it at least proved all those assholes dead wrong and I was right - losing megumi no matter the circumstances - would impact yuji the same way gojo was impacted by losing geto

I totally understand why people are really upset about this ending but I think the message gege is sending is you can’t change your fate - you can take different paths to said fate but in the end those who are the strongest (gojo, sukuna, yuji) will be cursed by said strength with immense loneliness - absolute power, invincibility comes at a cost and the gojo’s & yuji’s of the world will always experience losing their geto’s and megumi’s and a part of them will die with them no matter when or how that happens

on the surface this can seem pessimistic but there’s also a peace that comes with it - some things are just inevitable which makes people’s mistakes so much smaller and easier to forgive (for themselves) because their decisions didn’t impact the outcome as much as they thought it would (yuji’s much more passive stance about getting involved in conflicts vs the burden of EVERYTHING he used to carry. He now, in theory, has the strength to save everyone but understands it’s not sustainable or possible just like gojo learned he can’t save people who don’t want to be saved and if you try and save everyone they just become overly reliant on you and become complacent themselves)

obviously yuji and megumi broke MAJOR curses and their path while painful, wasn’t the same kind of pain where one had to kill the other and they got so much longer together than gojo and geto - on earth anyway so that’s where our choices impact the kind of journey but not the destinations

it honestly reminds me a lot of gilmore girls lol - in a year in the life the creator finally got to end the series the way she always wanted to end it - rory actively choosing to be a single mother to her Christopher (logan’s) baby while setting out to work for herself away from all the connections the world of the elites offers (just like her mother at the inn) with a developing romance with her luke (jess) - Identical to her mother’s journey proving it didn’t matter that lorelai supposedly “did everything wrong and screwed everything up” by getting pregnant at 16, not marrying Christopher, dropping out of school and running away from home - rory corrected all those “errors” and ended up with the exact same results just with a different formula aka journey

especially with the mountain of queer coded relationships, and all the anti conservative narratives and characters in jjk there is a strong element of self acceptance to me - you can’t fight your destiny aka who you are so just accept yourself and trust you’ll make it to where you’re meant to be no matter what because it’s inevitable but you DO get to choose how enjoyable the journey is

Fushita are actually around 23 and celebrating valentines day somewhere. Yuji doesn't looks much younger then him rn.

Though some folks might still stare in confusion because Yuji just naturally has a babyface. But I think they'd gotten more buff and taller with age so Yuji might be roaming around looking like Megumi’s homotron/twinkatron 😏😭🤣 bcs Yuji is stuck at 15 no so he can't get too mascular or tall bcs then that will be gege creating a plot hole.
