Take some time and jot it down, The clock's been hung for days. Pass it by with a scribbled sound, Reach for that escape. A featured promise across your lips, Reminds you of what is safe, Not much, not enough to waste. Venture forth into the fire Clench your teeth and let it warm, These bones were meant for holding But now they're pressing at the hearth Train of thought comes crashing, The sound it startles all Don't forget not to fall. I'm just sitting, staring out into the sea. A body of water that exists just for me. I'll be waiting, waiting for that rescue team. There are notes laid out across the table, With explanations bare, Trash filled floors and shallow cupboards And a cobweb on the stairs, A sanctuary windowed room, Collecting all our thoughts, There's a lot, what's the cost? And I'm colder now than I was before, Darling I am scared. My words don't reach across the globe, It's like I'm stuck in East-Japan. So teach me to breathe, And maybe I will be, me. I'm just sitting, staring out into the sea. A body of water that exists just for me. I'll be waiting, waiting for that rescue team.
