Blaine had decided, after these last few days had passed, to reassess the situation and evaluate his next steps by returning to the beach. He hoped by retracing his steps, he could come to better terms with what happened.
He had managed to find a small stream with fresh water that morning, but he was starving. And he felt dizzy from lack of food. He hoped today he could run into some people who were capable of gathering food and other resources, since it seemed they’d be there for a while.
Sensing someone coming close by, he waved politely. “Hi there.”
Nick had been keeping to himself for the most part. He knew that at some point he was going to have to meet up with others that were scattered around the island but the concept of creating connections and relying on others was a completely foreign concept to him. Nick had been aimlessly walking for a little while, looking down at his feet as he did, when he heard the voice. He looked up suddenly, meeting eyes with another man around his same height. “Oh, um, hi.” Nick stammered awkwardly, not really knowing what to say to.
