           she’s quick, pricking and pulling as            little as she needs---- it’s a small            amount. capping the vial, she             gingerly wipes the area with an            alcohol pad before popping a             vibrant blue band-aid over the spot.

             “  tada! now, was that so bad?                  and i try. folks just gotta                 understand that a spoonful                 of sugar helps the medicine                 go down.  ” 

            she smiles, patting Lima’s knee.

                                                 yet, blue’s MOVEMENTS are                                                                                                 sluggish. her focus, blurred. 

                     only a ( pitiful ) warble sounds                                                                                                                       from her position on the floor. 

         something is wrong.

               her brow softens as she                ambles to the door of the                 paddock and hears her whine.                genny tuts, speaking in                 gentle and reassuring tones.

               she’s crouching, eyes watching                 for the permission from the beautiful                girl. her hands fiddle with the lock,                  and the door buzzes before swinging                 open just a crack.
