Josefine couldn’t show her hurt at his words, this wasn’t about her in any way, well, apart from her intervening, but Flynn was hurting, he felt alone and helpless. She stayed put, unmoving in her position or her emotion, she just stared at him, listening, waiting till he was finished before she even thought about speaking.
Once he’d apologised, though she had never wanted one, she finally moved, her feet quick and almost in a blink of an eye, she was stood in front of him, her hands either side of his face, and eyes bore into him as they had done from the distance before. “Do you really think you’re alone? That there’s no one else out there for you to be around?” She asked the questions, though didn’t bother to wait for an answer. “If you honestly feel that way that Jesus, I’ve been a really shitty person to you, because you’re not alone Flynn, you’ve never been alone, not really.” Dropping her hands down from his face, Josie let out a soft sigh, brushing her back from her face.
“Holding onto that vengeance is gonna be the thing that kills you, whether it’s because you can’t see past it, or because it’s going to break you down from the inside until you can’t find a way back, but you gotta let go of trying to get revenge Flynn, focus on making your Uncle proud, he’d want you to be the best person, and wolf, you can be. It’s cheesy to say it, I know, but it’s the truth.” Pressing a hand to his chest, over his heart, Josie used her other hand to turn his head towards her, her gaze relaxing a little as she sought for his. “You’re a good person, don’t let those assholes take something else from you.” Trying to offer him a thin smile in the darkness, Josie shrugged a little. “I know we’ve had our own issues, and things haven’t been smooth sailing, but you’re not alone, and you don’t need some pack to help guide you.”
Remaining still while he had not anticipated or expected her to rush over to him only to then feel her warm palms on his sweat heated cheek bones. Pinching his eyebrows together as he appeared to be bemused for a moment when eyes gazed into her own. Breath hitched in the back of his throat while feeling effortless to ward of the anxiety trembling right through him. Flynn nodded in response to her question about him feeling as if he were alone. His lips twitched together as he worried about garnering pity or sympathy for himself which he didn’t want.” I don’t have anyone left. When I became this way all of the people who said they would be their for me left including my now ex girlfriend.” He dismissively shrugged his shoulders and licked his lips. Shaking his head from side to side with his eyelids slowly closing and opening as Flynn didn’t blame her at all for anything.” You didn’t do anything wrong trust me it’s okay it’s just how it is you know. Sometimes you just have to go with what life throws at you.” His hands twitched only to instinctively hold them together as eyebrows rose up just a little.” I feel alone but I appreciate your help.” Flynn admitted in respect for her as he bowed his head in her direction. Nostrils slightly flared while he felt ripe with sadness coursing right through him he attempted to shake off. Taking in her serious words attentively when she spoke about vengeance.
Flynn’s own hazel eyes sunk down to the ground when he silently nodded his head agreeing with her speech after coming to the realisation that vengeance was not some path for him to travel on.” It’s not corny by the way but I get what you’re saying. I don’t have anything else.” His words quietly shared when his gaze returned back to her face. Flynn felt her hand pressed against his chest. Slightly he pivoted his chin up. Reaching his hand up only for his fingers to gently trace and curl around her wrist as Flynn held on to it.” You’re a good person too Josie. I am sorry for all of this.” Having the inclination and need to apologise to her thinking she deserved it for causing her trouble. The corner of his mouth curved up and twitched. His hand lowered away from her wrist back to his hip.” Are you offering to help guide me? I am a slow learner by the way besides I mean if you want we can hang out but like if it’s too soon then I totally understand it’s just I don’t want to be alone right now.” A small breathless chuckle escaped when lips faintly tugged into a tiny smile.
