The gods are more forgiving than people realize.

I get the fear of angering your gods, but you are human and they understand that. Unless you are being straight offensive on purpose, then you are okay. Build your relationship with your gods based on respect and trust.

Whether you’re a devotee or a worshipper, you’re not always gonna be at your best, and there are gonna be times - maybe lots of times - where you may not feel you can give 100% to your deities. You may not even be able to talk to them at all.

That’s why I LOVE devotional jewellery or any other kind of devotional item that you can carry with your person. Just the simple act of putting on a necklace or a ring or something similar is such an amazing way of showing your deities “hey, I’m still here. I still love you. I still carry you with me.“

Safety in Witchcraft

What’s not talked about enough in the spiritual community is mundane safety along with spiritual. Critical thinking is vital. I wanted to share a lot of my personal rules for myself that I have adapted into my craft.

Fire safety, never leave an open flame unattended. Ever. Always burn in an open enough area with a fire safe dish or on ceramic tile away from animals and children. If you leave the room extinguish the flame. Do not sleep with fire going. I know we want to keep that spell going even during a nap but sometimes we don’t wake up in time for danger. This is absolutely vital to keep you safe. It won’t ruin a spell I promise or anger anything. Please do not add those herbs to that candle. I know it’s nice and pretty but that is a fire hazard. Stay safe.

On that note always have an open window or a well ventilated area when burning items. That goes for herbs, incense, or candle. Smoke inhalation can ruin your lungs.

Rodents, reptiles, birds, any animal is sensitive to scents and have small respiratory systems. Be careful using anything around them. Research what can be used around them. I mean research! Cross reference. Use veterinarian hospital guides, not pro essential oil blogs. Please don’t put any essential oils on your pets. They can be seriously harmed.

Moon water actually molds, very easily. So can herbal blends if not stored correctly. Check frequently and use before end of date. Distilled water is your friend to prolongs shelf-life along is storing in a cold dark place.

Witchcraft and magic is not a replacement for medical treatment and medically prescribed medication. It absolutely can aid your treatment but it is never a replacement.

Do not ingest any herbal remedies without consultation with your doctor and/or Herbalist. Especially if you have pre-existing conditions and need to take medications for it. Things can conflict and are deadly.

Also forage responsibly. Unless you are 100% certain what you have foraged is the correct plant. Don’t even chance it. It’s not worth sickness or in worst cases death.

Do NOT ingest essential oils. I don’t care what you have heard from pro essential oil pages. The distillery methods are not safe for ingestion. It can tear up your stomach lining and throat. Cause extreme nausea and vomiting. Seizures and in worst cases death.

Some covens and practitioners are not your friends. Be cautious and use stranger danger. Be cautious and never give out all of your personal information online. There are predatory people everywhere, including in this community. Please be safe. Always use your gut instinct.

Thoughts on Offerings

The thing about an offering is that it has to come from you for the being you're offering it to. It is specifically FROM YOU meaning it has to be something within your power to give.

This could be something more easy or more difficult, but gods, spirits, ancestors, etc. aren't stupid--they know what you can and can't do.

They know if you're a minimum wage worker, or a broke college student. They know if you're well off financially but maybe you've burnt out and can offer expensive gifts but not much time or energy.

An offering shouldn't be the easiest thing in the world to give, but it never is, because if it was then you could do it without thinking about it. Even offering a prayer or words of veneration is an offering. If you can do more then do it!

The point behind an offering is intention and the means to give the offering. However that manifests for you is almost always gunna be good enough!!

For example: Hunting may be one way you could give offerings to the god Lugh--who I follow. Or taking part in competitive games, but I am asthmatic and trans and organized sports don't tend to like people like me very much.

And he has never asked this of me cuz he knows that's not my vibe!! Nor would it be much of an offering since it's not much within my wheelhouse, lmao. But did I spend 2+ hours painting my nails as perfectly as I could and offer that creative energy and time to him? YES!

TL;DR - Sometimes offerings are like:

"I'd like a coke." "We don't have coke, is pepsi ok?"

Magic is fueled by energy.

My grandmother taught me that ancient spells and occult instruments are like magical engines. For them to start, they need fuel — a witch’s energy.

That is why a curse is guaranteed to work only when the one who cast it was exploding with rage.

And that is why tarot is even more precise when the reader or querent is overflowing with emotions, positive or negative.

The key is focus.

When asking tarot, your joy, hunger, pain or anger must be harnessed and directed towards your question.

To illustrate, if you are feeling crushed by loneliness, and you wish to ask tarot who your soulmate is and when you will meet… focus on your curiosity about who will lift your misery and when it will happen. You are asking about tomorrow, so think about the future.

Because if you think about a former lover instead, tarot will pick up on the agony he or she caused you in the past, not on the person who will someday help heal it.

Hence you will see negative cards.

Not because tarot is not wise enough to answer the question you asked, but because the question you asked is not the same as the one spoken by your heart. And ultimately that is what tarot listens for: your heart more than your thoughts, your soul more than your words.

Do not be afraid of reading the cards when your emotions are turbulent. That is lightning. Use it. But careful it does not scatter. Let it gather, and direct it.

~ full moon ~

I personally leave out water if I need more moon water and all of my crystals on my windowsill. I also meditate and manifest. Tonight’s is a buck moon which coincides with when male deer grow new antlers so it’s good time to focus on growth, transformation, and strength! I also do a lot of grounding on the full moon as it’s when the tide is high and so is energy in my opinion. I always have a lot of emotions on the full moon and I take advantage of it.
